Answer:
Sorry, I answered this question incorrectly in my previous response. I bought two different lights and got them confused. This light has a cord between the light and the charging panel that is about 3 ft long.

There is no cord. The charging panel is on the top side of the light; it is part of the light.

The manual doesn't give that level of detail, but I will say it lights up my shed enough to see very well.

Don't know lumens but I'd compare it to a 25 watt incandescent bulb at best. It is a spot of course so that helps direct the light.

The package does not state how many lumens this light is. I can tell you it is about as strong as 100 watt incandescent light; not very bright even though they say it is L.E.D. My normal back door light is brighter than this one. It basically works as a spotlight. I am using it as a deterrent to anyone coming over the fence since my house backs up to an open field. If you need a true security motion light you really need to get a stronger one. If you just want some light to unlock your door, this is fine. I have the double light motion sensor in front and it lights up the night, very bright. It costs more but you can't put a price on your safety. Read Less

I live in San Antonio where we get mostly abundant sunlight however, we have had three days now of overcast skies. It will come on maybe two times before it blinks telling me it needs a charge. Even with overcast skies it will get a little charge but with daily sun there is no problem. I won't charge much if the solar panel is covered with snow or dirt so make sure it remains clean and uncovered. Read Less

Answer:
Light and solar panel can be mounted at most 15 ft apart by the plug in cord. The light is mounted either vertically on a wall or horizontally on a ceiling with 2 included screws. The solar panel is mounted on any surface with 3 screws included.

Answer:
It is screwed into the wood or metal where you are hanging it. The solar power plate needs to be placed where it will get optimum light. It also has the option for hanging it. I have a flat roof so I attached it to a board to keep it from blowing away and placed it on the roof. It's simple to install, even for the beginner.

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solar Security Light Pretty easy to install, even on a concrete wall. I purchased these to replace worn out lights I previously had in the same spot, same lights. They last quite a while, probably two or three years in my yard on the wall in the hot Arizona sun. Purchased the same ones again so I could just mount them to the same holes I drilled for the first lights. These are priced well too compared to many others. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great light for our shed Took some time to charge for first use, but plenty bright for our shed. Easy to install as well. October 31, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by connection of the machine and battery is getting rusty. Battery will leaking You will know it ten months later. Battery leaking. I bought five. Three of them leaked so far. Two of the remainder may happen, too. Because the connection of the machine and battery is getting rusty. There is guarantee of one year, but when I called company they ignored me. I never buy the product of this company. September 17, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Low light This light has a very low intensity compared to similar products. The solar battery is difficult to charge and when it is finally charged only lasts about an hour. This product is not worth the money. December 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor light I could install this myself but it was very dim even on sunny days, I replaced batteries and it is just a piece of junk. Spend the extra money and get a good light. February 18, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Expected more for the price I was hoping that the performance would be better. I charged it for 3-4 days in full sun before installation. I set it up for 5 min illumination when activated. I wanted it to light up the back porch when outside for short periods at night. Had it installed for about 3 weeks before actual use, and light grew dimmer and dimmer after 4 days of 2-3 visits outside per night. (smoke breaks) I will need to troubleshoot to see if solar panel actually charges with enough amps for the batteries - it may be a poor design with total amps of NiCads vs. output of solar panel, but it may be too early to tell. It may work better in 1 minute mode, but, based on what others are saying, I may have to try to either match the batteries better. April 10, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sensor Didn't Work The product had good light output, but I couldn't get the light sensor to work. The only way to turn it on was to switch it to test mode. Home Depot let me exchange it for a different product that works great. October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very bright and well priced I am very impressed with this product, so far. I charged the batteries in a charger I have because I didn't want t wait for an undependable sun. This worked fine. I have since hooked up the solar cell and am waiting to see if this charges the batteries. If not, I will go back to charging the batteries in my charger.I have the unit in the back of my hous. The unit provides plenty of light.I would recommend this to anyone looking for a inexpensive but very dependable solar motion security light June 7, 2011
