Answer:
Yes, there are 3 settings for sensor sensitivity. Low, mid range and high. You can then adjust to the lower setting and the sensor will be less sensitive.

Answer:
Hi Rex,
You will need to leave the light switch on so the motion sensor light will operate. With the power off the motion sensor will not illuminate.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by tucson Just purchased and installed 3 of these lamps in the back of our house. Had to figure out how to calibrate the lamps and motion sensors as one of the lamps turned on and off. They are set and are working flawlessly. The range of the sensors are really good, have the time set at one minute and the motion sensors at mid range. The lamps are very bright and they aluminate the entire rear patio's and part of the back yard. It is surprising 60W clear bulbs through the clear glass body can cast that amount of light. Very happy with these lamps, they look and function great and the price was very good. August 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by porch light size could have been a little bigger and it could be made a little sturdier but on the whole i was sastisfied September 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks & works great Looks and fits home really well. Dressed up the deck area. Ease of replacing bulbs. April 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fixture looks expensive but was value priced. Had minor install problems fitting it to existing housing but finally fit. Motion Sensor light works perfectly. Surprised at the distance of motion sensing. Unit looks great. March 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A reasonably priced standard Front light with motion detection Although I had an hand from an Angel to install, it was a simple procedures. Installation Instructions (As Always) is not really for beginners, once installed the until works like a Charm A beautiful design and affordable the detection system is configurable and accurate, The timer lets you select how long the light stays on after detecting motion (1-10 minutes), you can aim the sensor out as your needs apply, it has additional wall switch features that let you remotely control settings by on/off sequences. The ONLY drawback I can see is that the sensor Range has only 3 adjustable settings, for a typical suburban arena its adequate - however if your installation is an apartment or street front the sensor range may be an issue, although I haven't had the opportunity to see how the lowest sensor rating functions. All in All for the money this is an excellent product, I highly recommend! February 14, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice I specifically wanted white, wall mounted, motion sensing lights. They were the cheapest I could find. My husband and I have never installed a light fixture before. We installed three of these on our rental property for lighting and security in just about one hour. They are not too big or too small. They look great compared to the industrial looking ones that used to be there before. May 5, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works great. Easy to install. With various adjustments to sensitivity and range, this is an excellent product. Keeps bugs away since it is only on when someone is approaching or leaving. Excellent value for price. Only gave it 4 stars because I was missing a white cap but was able to use the one from my previous light. July 31, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointed I initially loved this light, it looks great, it's very reasonably priced, and it worked great when we first installed it and tried it out. It has never worked properly since that first test. I visited the website provided on the box for troubleshooting, and it seems the problems I experienced with it are common, that is, it clicks itself on and off rapidly, and will not stay lit. According to the website, that is usually caused by the light sensor being too sensitive and picking up nearby light, so they recommend you send them an email and they will supposedly send you a tiny plastic attachment that will shield 3 sides of the light sensor. I got an acknowledgement of my sent email but I am still waiting, one month later, for any sign of the plastic thing they said they would mail to me. On closer inspection, that does not seem to be the problem anyway. It doesn't matter what setting the light is in, it still thinks it's in "test" mode, and won't stay lit, just annoyingly clicks on and off rapidly. I can't even get it to stay on in "manual" mode, where you supposedly flick the switch off, wait a second, and flick it back on. It does not work. And by now the warranty has likely expired, and I cannot find the receipt. Waste of money and the time to install the useless thing. Despite its good looks, it does not work, and I regret buying it. I would not recommend buying from Heath Zenith, based on the poor quality product and unhelpful "customer service" from their website. January 6, 2014
