Purchased this unit 12/14/13, Installed same day in approximately 30 minutes (wired installation). In the box this doorbell looks really nice, installed it's fairly cheap looking plastic, but still looked better than the doorbell I replaced. During my first test I did get the install cover message, reinstalled and have had no problems. (The cover key must fit directly into the base slot to press the cover button.) Attaching the diode was straight forward, easy and I was able to make it work with a 5/8 drilled hole. At a cost of 59 dollars plus 10 dollars for the ringer, I did expect a better quality product, more melody and ring selections, and a cover that looks a little better than cheap plastic.
I will keep this unit because it does work and its looks far better than what I had. With a little frosted glass transparent spray paint on the plastic cover you can do what Heath Zenith should of done in production.
Pros: Easy Installation, Adjustable Volume, Wireless Capability, Nice Design
Cons: Cover looks like cheap plastic, Cover must be removed to adjust the volume or change tones, Limited rings and melodies.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cindy Heath Zenith Door Chime
I purchased this door chime yesterday at the store. Considering that everything now is usually made cheap as possible, and plastic, this was the most attractive option offered on the shelf.
Today we attempted installation.
What a joke. After wiring everything up ( installing diode into outside door bell unit and attaching all the wires inside, plus selecting the volume and chime tone ) the 'install cover' message never stopped no matter how many times we tried. We read over the installation guide many times, and nothing worked.
Taking it back to the store as soon as possible.
Not sure where to go from here. We have a home that's forty years old, and it was time to replace the unit for the sake of appearance, and because it was so loud it was jarring. We wanted the option of having a volume control and selecting a chime tone.
We spend more time returning items that are broken, damaged, or just plain junk now than should be necessary.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Frank Worst purchase I ever made
After installation, the "closed the door" voice did not stop. Need to add pressure with a human to make it stop while I tested the button. Installed the diode but constantly rang. Rang so much that my new transformer blew. Replace the transformer and re-check the wiring and change the diode. Still range constantly. Took off the diode and the constant ringing stopped. But could not get more than the double "ding dong" sound. Packed it up after two days of trying to make it work.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Henry Extremely poor product
Extremely disappointing!! This product has never worked correctly. I've been working on houses for over 20 years, so it's not as if I haven't installed this kind of thing before. I bought the recommended wireless push buttons for it. It worked off and on for a few days, now nothing works. Maybe if your system is wired it will work ok, but if you're looking for a wireless setup, I wouldn't buy it. I'll be out purchasing yet another kind soon. What a colossal waste of money!

Installed easily and can be used with wired connections or wirelessly. Nice variety of ring tones. My kids love that they can pick one to match the holidays!

As others have stated, this is a cheap looking plastic unit. However, I could see that when I bought it. The major gripe with the door chime is that the cover fits so poorly, yet it must fit precisely to depress a button that allows the chime to chime and not tell you to put the cover on. Currently my door bell chime is "please replace cover". You must also remove the cover to change the chime. Then you get to repeat the eternal frustration of trying to hit the sweet spot with the cover and button and praying nobody touches it or bumps it.
