Has this product been improved since all these negatives have appeared from buyers? If not, exactly what environment is ideal to get success, i.e. distance switch is from lamp, lamp socket efficiency, wattage of bulbs used,. I do not want to waste any more time nor dollars with motion sensors which do not work more than five minutes or switches which are "picky" as to when they want to work.
Why can we go to the moon, yet no one can figure out how to make a room motion sensor nor a wireless light switch work dependably?

Needless to say, this constant plugging and unplugging defeats the idea of "wireless" or "remote" switching. I turned mine on FOREVER (expensive electric bill) but when THE ELECTRICITY GOES OUT, SAY IN A STORM, again, you have to go reset the plug at the wall. We can go to the moon but, etc, etc, no remote lamp turn on/off can be invented. HOME DEPOT SHOULD HAVE HELPED THE BUYERS BUT DID NOT. NO WONDER IT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. Read Less

Yes, two kits with the same frequency channel A, B, C ,D or E. Unfortunately there is no way to specify the channel in your order. It is random.

Answer:
Yes, but each socket needs to be the same transmission code letter (ie:"C" or "D") in order to be compatible. However, the socket portion is not sold separately, so you would need to purchase 4 complete kits for what you are asking.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 57 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Good idea but poor performance! Within a few hours of installation it became intermittent. Work sometimes, then not. Good concept but only if it works reliably. June 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It works My old x10 remote stopped working. This was a reasonably priced replacement. Used it for one of the three ceiling light sockets in a high ceiling loft that all operate off a single switch. Needed to separately control one of the sockets while the other two were on and this works just like the old x10. March 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solves a problem Sure makes it easy to control lighting in an obscure area. January 27, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not worth the time to order Went through a lot of effort to get the correct frequency to eliminate interference with other rf switch. Installed and it worked twice and then would not turn off. Returned product. October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heath-Zenith-Lamp-Socket Product works very well; looking to buy a few more. November 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great! This product works great. I was able to put light with switch in both sides of my attic without the price and inconvience of hiring an electrician. I previously had pull cords for lights. The one thing I had difficulty with was that I was sent the same channel for both switches and this would not work from both ends of house. Home Depot was helpful in contacting company and getting me a different channel. There is not an option online to specify different channels when ordering as customer. Switches must be 100' apart in order to work on same frequency. April 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great! This was very easy to install and works great. I did not come across any of the issues listed in other product reviews. Only drawback is that the glass globe does not fit around the bulb due to extended length. Good purchase. January 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Did the trick Replaced a previous hanging light for my elderly parents that had a thumbscrew switch at the fixture. Since a duplicate light was impossible to find, I installed a direct wired light. This unit made it switchable from a convenient location for my parents. The screw-in bulb holder/receiver pushed the light bulb out to be more visible, but a frosted deco bulb did the trick. This unit is designed to work better with upright shaded lamps, but was adapted to work nicely with an open hanging light. January 21, 2014
