Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy I love this very loud doorbell ever!!!
This Heath Zenith product is the best and loudest doorbell I found on the market. It works great in my four story, eight bedroom house. The musical notes are little off tune but that does not matter for it is supposed to be a doorbell, not piano.
Great working bell for only $50.
I had bought a Nutone/Broan doorbell for $200. It never worked from the beginning and only had a little ding. I tried to returned it to Nutone/Broan but they would not take it back. Beware, don't buy: NuTone LA305WL Traditional Wired Musical Door Chime, Walnut Finish

Nothing special, nothing wrong, and it works as described without any problems, so 3 stars.
I installed this along with the lighted doorbell switch DW-257. The switch lights. The doorbell rings through the full chime sequence with a momentary press of the button. You don't need to hold down the button for the full sequence to play. (If you forget to install the diode, then you must hold the button down to get the chime to ring through the whole chime pattern). We can hear it throughout both floors and basement of our 4 BR Cape, which is around 1800 sq. feet. I wouldn't want it louder or it would hurt your ears if you were next to it.
One complaint about Home Depot itself. The box in the store appeared to have been opened, so I asked the clerk if we could open it and make sure all the parts were there. Some parts were missing and this was the only one in the store, so I went to a different Home Depot to get a complete package. The next day, I happened to be back in the first store and saw that the clerk had put the box that was missing parts back on the shelf for someone to buy. That was foolish and dishonest.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill 8 Tone, Westminster Door Chime
Easily installed and operates perfectly. Make sure the diode is installed in the outside door bell button. This makes it work with all 8 tones of the Westminster Chime.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dude Great upgrade from builders grade "ding dong" door bell
Simple installation. It's loud with an adjustable volume control. Can hear it in all areas of a large two story home. One installation note, a smal wire diode must be placed between the two terminals on the outside door bell button in order for the chimes to sound. Two diodes (one extra) are included in the box. Whole do-it-yourself project took this novice well under an hour.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HXD Loudest Door Chime Ever!
Finally found a door chime that helps me hear when someone rings the doorbell. My bedroom is at the farthest end of my house and I never can hear the old doorbell. I went online and bought a wireless doorbell that is supposed to be for hearing impaired that lights up. The problem with this is it has a delayed action when someone rings it. But the new door chime I got at Home Depot does the work! Very happy with it. Volume can be adjusted, so I have it on loudest. You even get two choice of tones to use!

This product is everything I needed. The Home Depot had plenty of the product in stock and the instructions are very easy to follow. There Is only two chimes on this particular door bell but the volume is what I needed and it surpassed my expectations.

I have read the reviews and the troubleshooting before purchasing this product. I knew before I purchased it it would either work or not work. Unfortunately it will not work in my Mothers house. This is going back to the store for a refund. Bummer.
Note that it did not matter a bit which direction the diode was placed. It just made a small "thunk" sound.
