The 922 wired push button features a pewter finish and lighted insert. This push button has a portion that must recess into the surface it is mounted to. It requires a 5/8 in. (or 16mm) Dia hole to be mounted properly. The plate of this push button sits flush on the surface, while the back portion of the push button recesses into the hole.

Unfortunately this model does not come with a diode included. Typically those come with the electronic chimes. You can pick up a diode at your local electronic store. If you have any further questions please contact our customer service department @ 1-800-858-8501.

Answer: 
Yes, this is a push button for a wired doorbell system. If you don't already, you will need a 5/8" hole in the surface your current push button is mounted to as there is a portion of this push button that recesses into the wall to give it more aesthetic appeal.
