Fchatiwala,
Yes, this can be used for both applications. To be able to use both types of buttons you will need to wire the doorbell (chime) into the wall. Do NOT put in batteries. Answer:
Electrician,
The wired/wireless door chime will work well with this scenario. What I would suggest for the second chime is purchasing the Wireless Door bell Extender kit (SKU 1001411385). This offers a chime that you can plug anywhere in the house (i.e. second floor). Another great feature of the Wired/ Wireless chime is you can hard wire a push button to your front door and use a wireless for the back Read More

As for push buttons you can use any wired or wireless push button that are Hampton Bay branded. Please note the "universal" buttons will not work with this chime only Hampton Bay Branded. Answer:
Thank you for your question. If this unit is used as a wired chime it will require a 16 VAC transformer. The sound options are easily programmable. All basic tools needed and instruction can be found in the owners manual. Please contact our customer service team for further questions at 1-800-858-8501.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Product problem We had a similar doorbell that stopped working. When we installed the new one it kept saying "Cover off". We placed the old cover in the doorbell and it works now. March 8, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor design coupled with poor quality Unless the cover is on, the doorbell emits the phrase "install doorbell cover" when the doorbell button is pressed. Helpful for someone who can't figure out whether the cover is on or off, but frustrating when trying to adjust the volume and chime during installation (the controls for which are under the cover). During installation (when you would want to adjust tone and volume), you must detach and attach the cover after each adjustment before ringing the bell to test the chime. This would be tolerable, if the chime actually worked after attaching the cover. I removed and reattached the cover three times but could not get the chime to work - only the annoying message "install doorbell cover". I wish the engineers spent their energy designing a decent doorbell rather that a cute little reminder to attach the cover. It's going back. July 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very attractive and stylish Nothing negative to say about this item except the price could be a lower and then its an excellent product for an excellent bargain. . Very good quality; matches my walls perfectly so guest do not suspect I have a door bell until it rings. Very loud so I dont miss any packages or guest coming to the door. April 1, 2014
