I went to Home Depot, and the sales associate said that they don't sell this separately, however, it is not included in the kit, nor with the doorbell I purchased.

Hello, on this unit, 2 diodes are supplied. Only 1 is required to be attached to your doorbell button. They are VERY small and are included with the mounting hardware. If you did not recieve yours, you will have to go to the mfg"s. website. There they have a FAQ section, or you can send them an email. Hope this helps.

I just purchased and installed this unit over the weekend. My door bell had 2 diadoes with it. I had recentlly installed a new door bell button on the front door, and I dont think I needed a diadode, but I installed it anyway. This unit was easy to install and I am not really mechanically inclined.

The diode was in the kit when I purchased it. It was in a bag taped to the plastic covering the unit came in on the underside. In the same bag with the anchors & screws.

Answer:
Hi Cat, sorry for your trouble. In every box of this model should be a small plastic bag we call a "hardware pack" that has some screws, wall anchors and 2 diodes. Sometimes these get overlooked in the pack. If you don't them in your pack, please call out technical service group at 1-800-858-8501 and they can take care of your request.

Answer:
This unit can either be wired into your homes electrical system, or use 3 "D" batteries for wireless operations. For a wired installation you will need a 16 Volt AC, 10 Watt or a 16 Volt AC, 15 Watt transformer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Cheap 100% plastic construction. Does not allow testing without the cover installed which is inconvenient when testing the various chimes. Does not ship with door button. Did not ship with the "included" diode. Instructions are not clear on how to set dip switches to get the desired chime. Very disappointed considering this was the most expensive product on the shelf.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is junk Pro - attractive looking Con - inconvenient to change tunes; tune randomly changes; range is 150 ft but button (you need to purchase separately) is 125 ft; $15 button only worked if top part was pushed (middle, bottom did not make contact). I should have paid more attention to the fact that many of the boxes of this (and similarly priced Heath models) in the store were previously opened - likely returns. I bought this device and two buttons - NOT worth $90 I paid - returning it tomorrow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK While this chime is at the high end of the products offered by the local HD (price), it is of very low quality. The cover, which must be removed to change the tune or volume selection, is of low quality plastic. The cover does not have a tab that makes it easy to remove. The main componet box mounts to the wall with two small screws that are very close together and way off center. This puts a lot of stress on the molly and the drywall because the cover release tabs are hard to operate. If you purchase this product, plan to set it and forget it or fix the drywall. What is the point of selectable tunes and volume if it is this much trouble??????????

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work. Do not purchase this product. It is a piece of garbage that does not work. I attempted a wireless install. The remotes worked fine, as evidenced by the fact that the unit would announce "Please install the cover" anytime I pressed one of the buttons. Once the cover is in place however, the unit would sound the doorbell only 1 time for every 10 attempts. and 0 times when the remote was more than 12 inches (not exaggerating) from the unit. Previous reviews have spoken to difficulty with the cover. This does not seem to be the issue here. The instructions for the cover are simple and it was fully secured to the base. No excuses from the cover - this is simple a terrible product that does not function the way it should.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor instructions, cheap construction, and nonexistent customer service I'm having some trouble figuring out the setup, but I haven't spent a lot of time on it yet. That said, it shouldn't be as hard as it is, and the instructions are bad. (For some reference, I've redone several houses, including wiring, and know my way around a toolbox.) That's not my main problem with it, though. The construction is, as someone else mentioned, all plastic. Probably standard these days, but still cheap. One tiny part of my doorbell's cover broke, causing the chime to think the cover isn't on and to say "Replace cover," with all the charm of Herman Munster, instead of ringing the chime. I left two messages in the manufacturer's voicemail system (I couldn't ever reach a person) asking if it's possible to order a replacement cover, and haven't heard a peep back from them. Maybe they'll pay more attention to a bad review. I'll update if I ever hear from them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good product so far I just installed this product yesterday. It was to replace an old door bell that had stopped working. I read on previous reviews about all the problems people had with this unit. All i can say is that IF you follow the directions to the letter, you will not be disappointed with this unit. Just remember, that in order for this unit to function correctly, you must install the supplied diode to the pushbutton outside your door, or this unit will not work correctly.(the diode is VERY small and in a separate plastic bag) The wireing instructions are not the best, but i wired my Red wire to the screw marked "Trans." and my White wire to the screw marked "Front". This unit workes like a charm for me.
