DO YOU HAVE TO HOOK UP A DIODE WIRE IN THE BUTTON? IF SO WHERE?

Asked by: Anonymous
This specific push button is wireless, so it does not need a diode. A diode on the push button is only needed for a wired doorbell system and if the doorbell inside your home has an electronic sound base.

How do I change the push button battery?

Chime stopped working.
Asked by: Heavy
Remove the front metal plate of the push button by using a small screwdriver to push in the tab on the bottom of the push button. Complete instructions can be found at the following site: http://www.heath-zenith.com//data/manuals/200202-01A.pdf.

Will this push button work on a non-Honeywell chime?

My current chime and push button are made of plastic and have no brand name on. I do not like the look of my current push button and I would like to replace it with this polished brass button. Do you think the Honeywell button may work on my chime? Do you have polished brass button shells in the catalogue so that I can transfer the electronics from my old chime button to the new one?
Asked by: Orfeo
This specific wireless push button is Heath Zenith. All Heath Zenith wireless push buttons and door chimes are compatible. They will not work with Honeywell models though. If your door chime is Heath Zenith it should have the name on it somewhere. If you have additional questions or need more support, please call our Technical Service Team at 1-800-855-8501 and they can run through some questions to get you all set up.

Wireless Battery Operated Push Button with Lifetime, Polished Brass is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced a very old original Heath unit that was plastic... Replaced a very old original Heath unit that was plastic and had cracked over time. Only had to change one dip switch setting (8) for the multiple chime option. This replacement more closely matches our door hardware. Mounted to a new brass outlet cover. Looks great. Very pleased - Recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quit working I had an electrician install this. It worked when he left and the following day it quit working. People call me from their cell while standing on my front porch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value and Finish. This is a heavy, apparently, solid brass button. It has an interesting curved profile, which just happens to match that of my door hardware. It installed easily with the supplied plate, similar to all other doorbells I have installed. It functioned correctly with my older model Zenith chime, which has DIM switches. One note: It comes with CR1220 batteries (other reviews gave wrong model number or said none supplied). I expect this button to look better and last much longer than the plastic OEM button.
