You can reas my review of the item. Mine only chimes about 1/6 of the time or so and it is only about 20 feet away. However when it does chime the sound really caries. Not too loud just a good chime that is easy to hear at a distance and very recognizable. It the item kept working I would be thrilled.

The volume setting has a broad range, I installed this in a large office space and have the volume set at the lowest setting and it is clearly audible through the entire office.

You can adjust the volume and it can be LOUD. I use mine in a 10,000 showroom but it is mostly open space and a quiet environment. I think that the volume on loud would be sufficient for a noisy environment. The box says 100 ft. and mine are right at that. Sometimes walls or shelves do cause some interference and it may not Always sound- but the majority of the time it does and the closer they are Read More

Answer:
This model is rated for up to 100 ft "line of sight". Line of sight means a direct, uninterrupted path from the door sensor to the plug in receiver chime unit. As is the case for most wireless devices, the more objects, especially if those objects are metal, between the door sensor and chime unit, the more opportunity for the wireless transmission to be impeded.

Yes you can use this unit with multiple sensors. Not sure how many, but I don't think that would matter. You would have to have 2 chime boxes for interior and exterior sound alert, but as you get a chime box with each door sensor- that shouldn't be a problem. The next consideration is how far apart all of your doors are as the unit only reaches approx. 100 ft. Mine are at max distance-maybe a little Read More

Now you just need enough outlets to plug them into. The chime boxes are large and only 1 will fit into a 4 outlet space. Best of luck to you. Read Less

Regarding your question on Heath Zenith Wireless Plug-In Door Chime Model # DL-6168, because the door contact is a radio transmitter and the chime base is a radio reciever you can use as many transmitters with as many recievers as you would like, but the chime can only distinguish front & rear. CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value Very usefull not disturbing device, chich can be easily programmed. November 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Handy device We have 2 of these and one was dropped and no longer worked. We just replaced it. We sometimes have trouble getting it positioned in a place with electricity, not too far from the door sensor, that is also where we can hear it well and so as not to have to turn it wide open on the volume and be too loud when you are next to it. Overall good product. Used in a retail store for areas that were hard to hear the door chimes already in place. January 22, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesnt work We had it up about a week before the battery died, went to go change the battery and with a new battery it didn't chime. Worked with it for about 20 minutes before finally giving up, new batteries new location didn't work at all except for the first week. It was also amazingly difficult to get mounted to that it would chime when the door was opened. September 17, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by OK System works ok. A little work to get setup properly, but then it worked 95% of the time. September 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Ever The door chime would work when holding the magnetic sensor; however, it would not function once mounted. Not worth the money. August 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleased with this product. It worked as advertised, I'm very pleased with this product. August 5, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Useless Bought it for our office to notify us when a customer walks in so we can hear in the back. The sensor only worked a quarter of the time because the pieces had to be tightly pressed together. It claims they can be a 1/2" apart and work but it was not working. Very frustrating and waste of my time. February 18, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works fine, but don't count on the range This works as advertised, and was easy to install. However, the 100 foot range seems greatly overstated, especially if there's not a direct line-of-sight path between the sensor and the chime. I had about twenty-five feet between the door and where I wanted to plug in the chime, but that went around two corners. So I had to put the chime on an extension cord and so eliminate six feet of distance and, more important, one of those corners. As another reviewer pointed out, they're a little stingy with the double sided tape; you may want to buy some more substantial stuff if you're not mounting it with screws. February 6, 2013
