I haven't opened the package yet because I shall have to return it if the chime can't be turned off. It is for use in a church and do not want any sound in case someone presses the bell during a service. it was purchased just because it is a light. thank you

Answer:
Hi Zinn, unfortunately you can not turn off the chime.
I contacted Heath-Zenith, who stated you can turn the volume all the way down or place gauze over the speaker.
Hope that answered your question.

Answer:
I wish it were possible to adjust the delay because it is way too long. I have an empty lobby (all staff work in the back) and we count on the chime to let us know when someone enters our office. Visitors that feel comfortable in our office - or have no respect for boundaries - often make it into the back office by the time the chime rings.

Answer:
To the best of my knowledge, there is no delay in light and ring.
When the button is pushed correctly then the bell rings immediately.
If you perceive a delay then you may have to push the button in a slightly different manner so that the contact can produce the light to make the bell ring.

Asked by
OKIE IN NJ
OLD BRIDGE, NJ
December 12, 2012
WILL ANY OF THE WIRELES DOOR BELLS SEND A STRONG SIGNAL THROUGH A METAL ENTRY DOOR? I PURCHASED A POPULAR BRAND RECENTLY AND THE SENDING UNIT WOULD NOT GO THROUGH METAL, NOR GLASS STORM DOOR, NOR THE WOOD DOOR FRAME.
THE UNIT WORKED WELL FROM THE INSIDE BUT NOT OUTSIDE TH/E HOUSE. WHAT DO YOU KNOW THAT WILL WORK.

My recollection: At least 100 feet - could be 125 feet max.
It is mentioned in the instruction booklet that came with it but I left the booklet in the home where I installed it and do not have it handy at the moment.

I have a wireless doorbell / strobe light from Home Depot and a heavy metal door on my apartment. The manufacturer says it's good for 100 ft but I only found it good for about 25 ft. Otherwise, works great.

Answer:
Hi Okie in NJ,
Most wireless door bells will send a strong enough signal to work in most applications. I would try a different model or brand. Stop by your local Home Depot, our electrical associates can show you all of door bells we offer and give some advice as to the best model for your home.

Answer:
Not sure three buttons are possible.
The one I bought and installed at a friend's house came with two wireless buttons and one bell mechanism that could be set up to provide two different sounds e.g. One for the front door to give one sound and a second one for the back door that can provide a different sound on the same bell mechanism.

Home Depot has some good ones. They have one there that you can program in your own MP3's and assign them to different functions. I haven't bought it but it looks good! Should fit your bill.

Regarding your question on Heath Zenith Wireless Plug-In Strobe Door Chime Model # DL-6144, this unit is capable of making two sounds (ding dong for the front door and ding for the rear door). You can connect more than one push button; however, the unit only has two sound options. Thanks for your question!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great WIRELESS PLUG-IN STROBE DOOR CHIME Was easy to install because it took just minutes to install and started working immediately. December 11, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible product I purchased this doorbell for my Grandmother who has a small farmhouse. The range was supposed to be 100' however I could not get this doorbell to work within 10 feet. I button was placed on the exterior of the house at the front door and the chime was placed in the kitchen which is separated from the entry door by a small mudroom. The button would not ring the chime. It was only when I moved the button to the inside of the mudroom that the chime would activate when the button was pressed. The button is also made very cheap and although I returned this unit within hours of purchasing it I speculate that the button would not last through a NY winter. August 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good buy Simple to install and a good alternative to a wired bell. December 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Heath Zenith Wireless Plug in Strobe Door Chime We purchased this for a client of ours and they are very excited on the quality and the price of this item. Thus far it has worked out great for them and we are very pleased as well. April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product - Great Value - Great features This unit is nice in that it includes a STROBE light feature before the chimes rings out. March 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great device for the deaf! Good product. It's easy to install and works well. Manual is easy to follow and shows multiple ways of setting the pins for different configurations.... with chimes, without chimes, with strobe light, without strobe, etc. I am deaf and this device works excellent for me. Easy and inexpensive way for me to know when someone's at the door. I put mine up with picture putty so no holes, put button on apartment door, plug the unit in and forget about it. Devices like this through deaf services cost over 100 bucks so this is a cheaper option, without having to mail away for it. November 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install This was purchased for our business entrance door. It works great and can easily be relocated when neccessary. April 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent for the lab I purchased 15 of these to install in student labs over 2 years ago to promote lab security. None have failed. Button and chime are about 30' apart. I can even change the frequency so they don't interfere with each other. January 30, 2014
