I emailed mgf..was told that maybe someone in the area has the same light switch and to try to move to another outlet..which in my case is impossible...also you cannot change any frequency, they are set up at the factory..just wondering what is the range that someone can be on the same frequency?

Answer:
Please put new fresh batteries into the light switch. The "D" is the transmission code. If you want to add additional units to this system, you would need to make sure they are letter "D" transmission code. If you need some additional help, please call 1-800-858-8501 for our technical service team.

What does the code frequency letter mean? Why does the lamp turn off by its self? The switch is kinda of lousy goosy. And battery hard to snap in

I want to replace this with a current light switch I have but don't use. Where it is located there is a power outlet next to the switch. Can I use this but replace the wall plate with the duel switch outlet combo?

Answer:
No, as this light switch is battery powered and will not fit into a standard junction box.

Wireless Switch Outlet is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy way to install a (light) switch The product works as described. You supply the 9 volt battery and place the switch/transmitter on the wall with 2 screws (they include anchors which you probably don't need). A faceplate neatly conceals the innards. The receiver is plugged into the outlet and the lamp goes into this (they say 100 ft range - mine was 5 feet). The transmitter sends out a radio signal and turns the light on and off. One problem could occur if you buy several units from mail order, and they're all frequency (let's say) E, then a switch in one room might control lights in another room. (I bought one unit.) [An "E" switch controls only an "E" receiver and the package lists the frequency.] You might actually want one switch to control several lights, so you would need all the units to be the same frequency. Otherwise, this could be a nightmare where all sorts of lights go on and off without you intending this because a switch in one room controls all the lights in other rooms. So if you need several switches, buy them from a physical store so you can determine the frequency of each.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IWorks Great! I love this... It works great, I love being able to turn on lights when I walk into a room... It's also great in that you don't have to attach it to the wall..... I can carry to the bed, read and turn off the lights without getting out of bed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed after a year Good concept but poor execution. Worked for about a year then failed. I would guess (hope) that this is the reason that Home Depot discontinued it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice. Works as it should through the floor into my basement. I have this mounted on a wall next to my entry door and it controls a unit in my basement. Works well but there is one thing that should be noted. There is no "On" or "Off" label on the switch and I mounted it so that it turned the circuit on when the switch was up. After a week or so the up position is now "Off" so it is a bit difficult to know if the system is on or off without looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a solution great solution! A poorly planned bedroom light switch ended up being behind the door when you walk into the room. This wireless switch was the perfect solution. Attaches simply with screws and is powered by a 9 volt battery, no wiring whatsoever is needed. I'm so happy I found it. You won't find it better priced than Home Depot either. Go ahead, try.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very useful, but not perfect Very easy to install and a very useful product - this switch is really a great find for the price - the only real issue with it is that the connection seems to be loose, so when you flip it back and forth very quickly it doesn't work. Just flip once and it works fine :) Also it seems to just turn off randomly sometimes - this may be happening if a neighbor has a similar switch, but that doesn't seem very likely. Also, you cannot request a certain channel setting, which means if you buy two and they both are channel "A" they will interfere with each other. I'm sure there are ways around this. The product is definitely worth buying if you need more lights activated by light switches but cannot add wiring.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed about random auto switch on off The product works well when I switch on/off, also several feet away and with obstacles in between. But there is a very bad issue with the switches (I have 3 and all 3 have been doing it randomly): they can go on and off randomly, and it is a very bad thing especially during the night of course .... Not sure what to do with it, I have verified there are no neighbors around with the same switch, so it looks a real defect on this device. I didn't take time to return it back, but if I could have done easily, I would have given it back. Don't buy it, not worth.
