Your neighbor may have a similar unit and it is on the same frequency. Most of these units run on the same frequency. You might try changing the location of the inside unit,

Answer:
The chime is most likely picking up a signal from another wireless device in the area. If you move one of the jumpers (small black bits of plastic) from one location to another in both the Door Chime and on the Push Button it will allow your kit to operate without interference from any other radio signals in the area.

Below are a few troubleshooting tips:
• Make sure push button and chime codes are the same
• Check orientation of push button battery (See diagram inside push button
for correct battery orientation.)
• Make sure the plug-in chime has power going to it.
Batteries seem OK, but the chime does not work when installed:
• Do not mount chime or push button on metal or near metal studs. This
reduces the transmitter range. Use 1/4" to 1/2" (6 to 13 mm) wood shims
to move chime or push button off metal surface.
• Concrete floors may reduce range. Move chime away from floor.
• Try locating chime closer to push button.

Wireless White Plug-In Door Chime Kit With 2 Push Buttons is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Good I am about to return my third one. I like the fact that it has volume control so we can turn it up and hear it downstairs. Problem is the doorbell switch. So cheap and geometrically inside poorly designed. Really cheap stuff. Three doorbell switches and they are all "intermittent". Unless you push it just right in the right spot it will not chime. Until they fix that I do not suggest buying it. BTW the push button for the front door is only 10' from the chime. The rear door button works fine. If you check Home Ddepot in US, you hear about the same problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had This Product Since 2007 I'm now 77 years old. Installed product in minutes about three years ago.I am about to get another and install it at my church chapel. Nice soft ringing will replace rattling the doors, which we keep locked during Euchristic Adoration Services.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointed device Bought this couple months ago for our vacation home and it did work for the first couple of weeks. Tired it this week and neither door bell worked. Replaced both batteries thinking that was the issue and again neither one worked. Threw the entire thing out! Buying anything electronic from Home Depot is a mistake while the price is okay the quality is extremely poor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works like it should This works as described. Was easy to install except having to punch out screw holes on button units. But otherwise was a cinch to complete. Works great. Like the fact the volume can be adjusted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good system Easy to install. Volume is good. The only complaint is that there is a little lag between pushing the button and the bell ringing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Range I put one button 40 feet away and it had to travel through one solid wood door and it wouldn't work. At about 30 feet it would. If the door was open sometimes it would work. The other button was about 10 feet away through a metal door and it would not work. I guess it has some major limitations to it's range through any obstacle. The only way this thing could have a 100 foot range is if there is no walls between it. It's going back today.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It will do. its better than nothing, which is what we had in our new house. the hardwired bell looks to have long since given up. issue with this one is you only get a single tone for the second button which could easily go unheard. second issue is there is a substantial delay from the time you push the button until the bell actually rings. only seems to be an issue with the second transmitter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The chime goes off all by itself. Went off 4 times in one day with no one pushing the button. Shipping was fine and easy. The actual product is the problem with it going off whenever.
