I am trying to find something that will allow me to add legs to my box spring so that I can get rid of the ugly metal frame and not spend a whole lot. Will these be sturdy enough for use with a bed?

Yes! While I haven't used the mounting plate myself, I saw someone use this exact plate on a Pinterest DYI for upholstering their box spring.

I've purchased two different kinds of sofa legs for a Broyhill loveseat but they will not fit properly. Will this top plate work to secure these?

Hi legless,
I'm travis from The Home Depot. Thanks for visiting our site.
Yes, this top plate fits onto the bottom of the furniture in the corner to allow you to easily attach a leg to it. The leg needs a 5/16''-18 thread per inch machine threaded bolt inserted into it. The Home Depot offers these legs in various lengths in stock.

You can add a hanger bolt to the Broyhill replacement legs if they are made of wood. Pre drill the leg to accept the insertion of the hanger bolt.
Attach the Top Plate with screws into the frame of the chair. Take special care not to split the wooden frame with the screws.
After the plate is attached, screw the leg with hanger bolt onto the plate.
Thank you for asking,

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase! Great quality product. Easy to instal and work with. Worked perfectly with the legs i purchased from Home Depot. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Durable, Easy to Install! I bought these to go on a big desk I'm building out of Ash (it will be heavy) and wanted something extra durable to hold some 6"-tall bun feet on. I haven't installed these hangers yet but they are made out of very thick metal and have a total of 5 screws to attach. The actual threaded area is only about 1/4" deep.. I wish it was a bit deeper to grab more onto the threads of the feet but I'm sure it will be fine! While the desk is in the shop being built I am going to install caster wheels on these hangers for ease of moving back/forth to storage and assembly area, then when I'm at the final stage I'll swap out wheels for the feet! 1 out of 4 of the hangers needed to be exchanged. The actual bolt part of the hanger was welded crooked onto the bracket part so there was a 1/4" gap on one side (see picture) after I installed the feet. Not a big deal since Home Depot is great with returns. June 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by solid, heavy duty These worked exactly as I expected them. The steel plate is thicker than I expected, which is great. And thanks! to the manufacturer for making the packaging reasonable -- popped right out without the plastic shrink-wrap sticking to everything... :-) July 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by They work All four were uniform, liked that they came with screws, easy to use and install. April 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broke within minutes Three of the 4 plates I installed broke within minutes of screwing the legs into them. I didn't even get the table upright before the square bits with the threaded holes came right out of the rest of the bracket. And I wasn't trying to screw them in tightly at all. A complete waste of money! March 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy metal Plates are made of nice, thick, heavy metal. Should hold up nicely for a long time. February 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HEAVY DUTY TOP PLATE I ORDERED TWO BEDSIDE TABLES ON LINE AT WALMART FOR $29.00 EACH BUT WHEN I GOT THEM THEY WERE TOO SHORT. I DID SOME RESEARCH BY WATCHING YOUTUBE AND GOT THE IDEA TO ADD LEGS TO THE TABLES. I WENT TO HOME DEPOT AND PURCHASED EIGHT 6 INCH LEGS AND EIGHT TOP PLATES. I COMPLETED ONE OF THE TABLES AND SPRAY PAINTED THE LEGS TO MATCH THE TABLE AND IT LOOKS GREAT. I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. IT WAS VERY EASY TO INSTALL ON AND THE SCREWS WERE INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well with the table legs I bought... This works well with the table legs I bought. I attached the legs directly to a table top, and I did have to drill into the tabletop just a bit to allow the legs to screw in completely to the top-plate. Not a problem for me and didn't come as a complete surprise, but it is good to know. December 10, 2013
