Customer Questions & Answers

how is this applied to acoustic tiles?

Asked by: Farrell
I used a shallow V trowel. Like the trowels for doing ceramic floor tiles but instead of the normal square notches the trowel has small V grooves. You don't need those deep lines for this product. I applied directly to the back of the acoustic tiles and mounted on a wall. It is rather thick adhesive so it took longer than I thought it would.

some tiles in my bathroom are cracking. Can I use this to fix them?

Asked by: Hong
Howdy Hong, This adhesive is not the correct type. You would need ceramic tile adhesive such as: http://www.homedepot.com/b/Flooring-Flooring-Tools-Materials-Adhesives-Tile-Adhesives/N-5yc1vZcduo Happy fixing, Coach Dave

I have an unfinished concrete deck?

What do I need to do to a concrete deck before I can glue panels up?

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We reached out to MFG for more information and below is their response. “ This is not recommended for exterior use on an outside deck. Refer to ceiling tile manufacture for concrete prep "

It's been on for a couple of weeks and I have not seen any sagging or separation. Only negative was in the application - it's very thick, so if you plan to use this plan for ample time. I applied the first line of tiles like they were floor tiles - putting the adhesive on the sheetrock. That made is hard to get a even layer on the wall even with a grooved trowel. I used a shallow V trowel (instead of the normal notch trowel). The product is not nearly as pliable as thinset so I decided to put the rest directly on the tiles. This was my first time using this product (and putting acoustical ceiling tiles on a wall) so I'm sure there's something I could have done better. Overall I'm happy with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ceiling tiles This glue is the best glue --- I even think better than liquid nail. I put up ceiling tiles and I guarantee it is not coming down. I made a mistake putting 1 up and I played h___l getting it down within 20 minutes of it being up. Keep it stocked I will be back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tile Adhesive The adhesive was great. I used it to put up styrofoam tile in my kitchen. Home Depot told me to use this product to put up the tiles. Been up for a couple weeks now and not having any problem coming loose anywhere. Thanks Home Depot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product This adhesive, while hard to get (not stocked in ANY stores), worked well. We didn't need as much as recommended for our square footage, so 1 gal was returned to our local Home Depot without problem.
