Can this be used to glue down TPO rubber Membrane over OSB plywood

Asked by: tim
Tim-No, this is a solvent based adhesive and is not compatible with TPO. Thank you for putting your trust in the Henry Company and The Home Depot.

Laying new roof... Was thinking to do torch down... Can this be used for new rubber?

Asked by: Edward
This is meant to be used on built-up roof applications (BUR). Torch down needs to be heated with a torch to activate the adhesive on the torch down, so this is not as safe to install as a BUR roof. If your rubber roof is an EPDM that you're thinking of, you need to use an adhesive made for EPDM. For more info on our products, check out www.henry.com. can I use this to glue down lifted singles?

Some of my 3 tab single is lifted on the corners, is this the right adhesive to use to keep them down?
Asked by: kitty
This is mainly meant to glue down and waterproof rolled roofing. I know some roofers use it to seal the seams on the base sheet under the shingles, so it may work, but it's nothing we have tested. For what you're describing, I would recommend using our Henry 209 Extreme Wet Patch, Henry 208R Rubberized Wet Patch, Henry 208 Wet Patch, or our Henry 900 Flashing & Construction Sealant. Can this product be applied directly to plywood prior to an asphalt rolled roof product?

Should it be applied to entire roof area or would just the edges be sufficient. Thank you.
Asked by: Cart
Cart-I have posted application directions for you below and thank you for putting your trust in the Henry Company and The Home Depot. HE203 - ROLL ROOFING ADHESIVE is suitable for application with a notched squeegee or 4-knot roofing brush. Stir adhesive to uniform consistency before using. Do not thin. Apply adhesive evenly and uniformly with full coverage between each layer. After adhesive is applied, a few minutes of "open time" will accelerate curing time. Roofing may usually be placed up to 1/2 hour after adhesive has been applied. While adhesive is tacky, press roofing into adhesive by brooming. Roll with a weighted roller several hours later. Adhesion is improved by brushing underside of sheets at laps and walls with a thin film of adhesive. Remove excess adhesive from exposed surfaces. On laps, apply only a sufficient quantity of adhesive such that a small bead of product appears after pressing - in the lap. On slopes over 1" in 12", blind nail 2nd and 3rd layer 1" down from upper edge every 12". Henry #505 FlashMaster™ or Henry #209 ElastoMastic® can be used when vertical flashing or heavy duty sealing application is required. Built-Up Roofing: BUR is a demanding and exacting job for the roofing professional--It is not recommended for the D-IYer. As it is impossible to cover all the details of built-up roofing here, follow the directions of the roofing material manufacturer and follow NRCA guidelines for details and terminations. Top Coating: Allow 30 days of warm, dry weather before surfacing BUR with emulsion and a reflective coating.

How is it possible to apply this adhesive with paint roller.

Is this adhesive supposed to be kind of thick? it is so viscous, I don't think I'll be able to use a paint roller to apply this.
Asked by: Gerry
It is thick, but it should be thin enough to use a roller. I've used a roller and a brush myself.

Is this a suitable product when the roofing material to be applied calls for a urethane adhesive?

I have a roll of "Envirosheet" roofing membrane (bought at Habitat for Humanity) that I would like to use. The application instructions call for a "roofing mastic". When I dug further into the web site, the product/mastic listed is made by Cetco and called "M-2000 Liquid Flashing: Trowel-Grade Single Component Urethane Mastic". Having a bit of a time finding this and hoping to find a suitable substitute at Home Depot.
Asked by: NorthshoreDawg
Our Henry roof mastics are SBS modified asphalt, not urethane based mastics. If it's something you want to try, I would recommend doing a test area and try calling product support for the "Envirosheet" product.

4.75-Gal. 203 Cold-Applied Roof Adhesive is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Henry 203 I have been involved in the roofing industry since 1993 and have used about every product known and have seen new products come and go. Henry 203 is by far the best cold process product that is non-rubberized that I have personally used from small repairs to full size installations up to 2000 square feet with positive results. It sticks well to mineral surface roll roofing if worked in with a broom or brush even without the use of an asphalt primer. Take your time with it and it softens the roll roofing and can be worked into the ply with great success for repairs. Perfect product for the Do It Yourselfer who needs to take time with it. Pros need patience because most of us want to get in and out because time is money to us. But no other product compares. Great for rock roofs as well. Just remember prep is everything so follow the specs on the label or go to the Henry web page for instructions. Ask a Home Depot Pro for help and tips with this and you will have exceptional results! This product gets 5 stars +
