Product Overview

Henry 587 Durabrite white elastomeric roof coating is a premium, high-solids formula offering better weather protection, solar reflectivity and longevity than economy-grade reflective roof coatings. The cured coating forms a permeable membrane that prevents liquid infiltration but allows moisture vapor to vent or breathe out of underlying substrate. As an ENERGY STAR partner, Henry has determined that this product meets the ENERGY STAR guidelines for energy efficiency.

California residents: see   Proposition 65 information

Absolutely YES.
I have a part metal roof, that is joined to a rolled roofing paper roof over wood.
I recoat every 5 years, and it has NEVER leaked in 20 years.
I first saw a contractor using this on top of a patio that was also going to be a deck. He convinced me of this product for cooling the underside of the patio, and waterproofing. It holds up to light traffic also - as a deck.
If I could afford it

If I could afford it - I would cover my entire shingled roof with this stuff... It would make the roof last for at least 25-30 years.

Our Henry 587 Dura-Brite White Roof Coating is a reflective coating, not really a sealant. I would recommend a few different options. If you want to coat the whole roof, I would use our Henry 887HS Tropi-Cool 100% Silicone White Roof Coating. This product waterproofs as well as reflects. Per GRACO manufacturing, their recommended minumum sprayer is a 695, so use that as a reference.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Northern Arizona Mobile Home Roof Coating I own a 750 Square foot mobile home in Northern AZ and bought 2 pails of this roof coating to be similar to using a primer on the bare metal roof. I worked alone this last Sat 5/21 and it took me 9 hours to apply 2 full coats to the roof. I am very pleased with the results so far and will be applying 2 coats of this product ( 687 Enviro White Roof Coating ) in about 2 to 4 weeks depending on the weather conditions and my available time off from work. This will give me a total of 4 complete reflective roof coats that will without any doubt help to keep my mobile home cooler and comfortable in the summer heat. Application for the first coat took the most time and the second coat was much easier to apply even in the direct sunlight and with 20 plus mile an hour winds. May 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good roof coating It's much better than the tar stuff. This seals the small cracks and does a good job over all. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Cover Yet with the limited product choices available this choice proved to be the best we have tried so far . April 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by reflective coating I have used this product several times. It works as a basic sealer and as a reflective surface. It seems to give a longer life span to roof material. One major flaw. For first time this product did not adhere to itself. I rolled out 10 gals. this summer. During a drought summer, this coating had months to dry. When a wet winter, was predicted, I rolled out 5 more gallons over same area. Giving the covered area a second coat. This was important for areas of ponding on a flat roof. First rain, the second coat, bubbled and peeled up. It peeled up in strips. December 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1st Off, THIS STUFF IS GREAT!!! Be sure to read prepping steps & Follow them... I bought the Henry's 287 & the yellow 6in glass mesh to seal all flashings & misc patched spots. Used almost 1/2 the can to lay the tape & pre seal all the areas before laying roof material down. I was putting it on a Galvalume metal roof which is over my trailer (14x60). I was going to purchase the Henry's 687 12 year stuff but the store had the Henry's 587 10 year in stock so I opted to install this. This stuff is HEAVY! I bought 2 buckets & a 3/4 in nap roller to do the deed. Started on one side & painted in one direction all the way across the roof. Set my timer & waited for 4 hours & went back up & put the second coat on perpendicular (90 degrees) to the 1st coat which was a pain but I saw why they want you to do it this way & so will you. 2nd coat went on fairly smoothly even if it was a pain. Took just as long as 1st coat. By this time it was 9:45pm here in Montana so I climbed down from the roof & noticed I still had better than 3/4 of the 2nd bucket left after the second coat. Went down & had a nice cleaning session with a cloth towel & water & it cleaned everything clean. Following morning about 11:30 am temp was up to 70s or so & I went back up to finish the rest of the bucket. I layed the 3rd coat on with abandon... Went on much faster & I was done within 2 hours. I even had 2 inches worth left in bottom of bucket for the dog house... All of this to cool the trailer & seal out minor leaks that I was experiencing. This stuff did it! I not only cools the house much better but the minor leaks suffered before have all been remedied! Also 1 other benefit is the roof rumble has also diminished to a level that is bearable. Only in high winds can I hear anything. ANY 1 can do this so don't let it stop you! IT WORKS! August 26, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by roof coating Messy (it takes time to learn to paint it properly) but serve the purpose. Great product. November 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Repaired old roof I used this product to repair a leaky rubberized asphalt roll roof. It is a flat roof with little pitch and minor ponding of water. I first tried to fill and level the low spots with the solvent based fibered asphalt and still had leaks. I then used #107 water based asphalt as a primer and base for #587 white roof paint and did the whole roof, I reinforced with the recomended polyester roofing fabric and top coated with two coats of the paint. After six months and quite a few thunder storms and heavy rains I am confident this roof will last many years. No more leaks at all. As an added benefit this system reduces interior and roof temperatures. November 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My roof is smiling . Love this product . It did everything it said it would . Was easy to use, and the coverage was great... March 31, 2015
