Answer:
We would NOT recommend this product for crucible; there could be a catastrophic failure and injury. The furnace cement is not intended for long term exposure to flame and rapid cooling.

I am using this to attach fire bricks to a fire pit. When it rains, will it break down the cement, reducing its ability to hold the bricks together?

I see no data on the upper temperature range this can be used. Can you tell me what it it?

Answer:
If fully cured, the cement is rated to 2500 degrees Fahrenheit and unless it is fully submerged in water, the integrity of the product will be good. If you feel the cement will be submerged or continuously wet, do not use for this application.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent very pliable, cracked when high heat applied around chimney January 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not for fireplaces I bought this to repair a few pot holes in the floor of my fireplace. Not being a furnace, I couldn't start firing it up gradually as the directions stated. So after it was dry and i started a fire, the air pockets in it popped creating new pot holes in the floor of my fireplace. The product may be fine for it's intended use in repair of furnaces or stoves. December 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Furnace cement Easy to use dries pretty quickly same stuff that my heating system guy usef November 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product The cement was easy to work with and being there was a larger area that needed to be filled the thicker texture of the product allowed for this process. November 3, 2015
