Product Overview

Cork flooring combines the beauty of a natural and truly renewable material with the comfort of a cushioned, warm and silent surface. It is highly sustainable since the cork oak trees are not cut. Only the outer bark is harvested, and it will grow again each 9 years. The new narrow and beveled plank format creates a more appealing and elegant look than traditional cork floors that are made in large panels. Cork flooring is warm underfoot, comfortable and soft to walk on, anti-microbial, fire and moisture resistant and provides unrivalled noise reduction properties. Installation is made easy with the precision milled glueless locking system. This floor features an integrated underlayment made out of cork. Easy maintenance: simply vacuum. Prefinished cork requires no additional sealing after installation. Warm to the touch and resilient, cork floors are a great addition to your home. Ideal for all levels of installation. This floor qualifies for 4 LEED points: (1) EQ4.3 (Indoor Environmental Quality)-Low Emitting, (2) MR4.1 (Materials & Resources)-Recycled Content, (3) MR 6-Rapidly Renewable Materials, (4) ID 1-Innovation in Design.

Since this is a floating floor, can i install my stove, refrigerator on top of the cork?

Asked by: Frisbeeman
Yes, freestanding appliances and furniture are fine to place on a floating floor. Permanent fixtures, such as cabinetry, must be installed first and then have the flooring laid around.

Do you recommend your product for bathrooms and kitchens. Also, how durable is it if you have a dog and grandkids?

Do you re-coat the cork flooring after installation and periodically after that. What do you recommend and how often? Are glue down cork products more tolerant of wear and tear?
Asked by: Anonymous
Millstead Cork floors are approved and warranted for all areas of the home except full baths. Pet nails can dent/damage wood and cork floors, so it is recommended to keep their nails trimmed regularly, and you should consider using area rugs or runners in their most heavily trafficked areas. All Millstead Cork floor are prefinished with a UV-cured urethane topcoat, so it is not necessary to coat the floor upon installation. For older floors that are exhibiting scratches and/or gloss reduction, floors can be screened and re-coated with additional urethane.
