Product Overview

This durable prefinished engineered click real oak floor is easy to install. Simply engage the long sides at an angle and press down. The flooring is crafted of five layers of solid wood permanently bonded together in a cross-ply design. No HDF or other fiber boards are utilized. The stability of this construction provides superior strength, humidity resistance, and installation options (glue-less, floating, or glue down). The aluminum oxide finish provides 10 times more abrasion resistance than ordinary urethane finishes. Red Oak Natural 3/8 in. Thick x 4-1/4 in. Wide x Random Length Engineered Click Hardwood Flooring (20 sq. ft. /case) is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 136.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent floor system Very easy for the beginner to install. Beautiful finish that's able to handle the rigorous traffic. This was the second time I've worked with this product, it was as simple to install as the first time around. Very pleased with outcome.

It's actually pretty nice once you get the groove. The flooring itself looks great. I will say it does damage easily so it's not "hardwood" as the sales people would have you believe. I found the colors and grains to match up and make a great looking floor. I didn't find any defective boards and I bought a pallet at my local store and had 3 shipped to me. Some Heritage Mill and some Millstead. Although the names are different the product is identical. When installing, I found it easiest to use a small piece of flooring and a hammer to tap into place worked the best. Do no waste your money on the Roberts kit. Using the flooring is nice because the board you are tapping will also lock and lay flat letting you know everything is fully seated. The tiny pieces can go together by hand but a hammer will be needed for most of it. When using a board to tap, it will be destroyed so be ready for some clean up. I used one 18 inch or so piece and did the entire floor. A worthy sacrifice. That board is only an inch thick in some spots, it will splinter and destruct so be ready. The only thing I missed due to poor instructions was it tells you to start with the tongue against the wall. Now you have to space this as it's a floating floor. Between the spacing and the tongue your baseboard will not cover the gap. Now I have to make itty bitty fill pieces. I wish the instructions said to rip down the tongue on the starting row. Aside from that I like this floor.

Quarter inch spacers to allow for expansion as usual. This went into a guest bedroom. I used a dead blow to coax pieces together, making sure all were snug before moving to the next row. I did have to remove a few rows and go back to a piece that had separated, but that was no problem--just a bit frustrating.. Then I transitioned to the hall. this is where it got interesting. This is only 3/8th thick. I DIDN'T float it. I installed it to the sub floor. I reversed the installation method: tongue toward the wall and installed left to right, again using the dead blow to snug pieces. This came out so good I'm going to do the master bedroom next.

Was searching for an engineered floor that would match my existing flooring. Contacted the original manufacturer and told the original flooring would no longer be available, but go with the Heritage Mill Red Oak. Excellent choice and product. Photo attached shows existing floor (in hall coming to doorway) in comparison to new flooring in the bedroom. Very satisfied!

It is reasonably priced and it took less than a day for a tradesperson to complete laying the wood down on my one bedroom apartment. Under light the wood comes up beautifully and this is one of the best investments I have ever made, giving my apartment an incredible facelift.

I had the work done by an experienced, professional installer, who stated that quality was top notch, and product went together well. He preferred this engineered wood to the laminates that were available at a much lower cost, and now I do as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Seems like great quality. I gave it one less star rating because I had a few problems with the "joining together" of the planks. But I would definitively use this product again!
