Customer Reviews

Supreme Series Ironing Center is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I'd give it zero stars if I could. I installed and removed this unit in one afternoon. The concept is good, but it's very poorly designed. The cabinet looks great. But once it's installed in the wall, a little pressure on the ironing board causes it to depress by several inches. The ironing board is made of fiberboard, mounted by a single bolt to a turntable for the swivel, which also fiberboard. The support is insufficient, and the sag will get worse with wear and tear. The crossmember bar on this new unit was corroded. Finally, I had four of nine screws shear off, using pilot holes, at hand torque when installing the door. Terrible quality. Don't do it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a nice ironing board I am pleased with this ironing board -the only problem I encountered was it was missing a piece of wood at the top and a like piece at the bottom - they would not be seen unless you were over 6'2"(or you squatted down and looked under) once installed. However, I didn't want dirt to get in (or possibly, cold air to leak around) so I made a strip to replace the missing ones and it came out nice -once painted, you couldn't tell. It is really great to use -no more taking the conventional board in and out of the closet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Lasting! We've had our Hide-Away ironing board for 8 1/2 yrs. We had it put in when we built our house and I can highly recommend it to anyone who likes their laundry room to look neat! It is a great space saver as well! After 8 1/2 yrs. of daily use, I am replacing the pad and cover as well as a red cap that goes inside the metal bar that holds the ironing board when in the down position. I hope this review has helped you! Enjoy your new ironing board!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good product! Our iron fits perfectly in the top compartment of the center and our electrician added a receptacle to that area. The swivel on the board is super and all parts of the product are sturdy and nice .. except the hinges on the door. Although the hinges work fine, they could work better. Home Depot did well delivering the center in a timely fashion. Please correct the hinges and this will be a perfect item! We painted the door to match the trim in our home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product, bad screws. Installed this for my fiance yesterday in her quilting room, and very satisfied overall. I am not the handiest guy, but have basic knowledge and basic skills. The directions were clear enough and the finished installation looks good and feels sturdy. She is overjoyed to start using it today. Took one star off for the cheap brass screws included to attached the hinges. Don't even try, just throw them out and use any other screws of the same size. Even drilling pilot holes and forgoing a powered screwdriver and using only hand-power, the heads twist off these screws immediately. I broke 3 before I realized the problem wasn't me. If you work around that, everything else is satisfactory with this product, although I have to seal a slight gap at the top (though it's not visible or unsightly in the room, just for energy efficiency ) which I expect to be easy and not a pressing matter in my case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, but cheap hardware I bought the unfinished oak model since I am going to paint it to match my other laundry room cabinets. It is very well-made. The door and face frame are solid oak. It fits right against the wall with no gaps (as others have suggested). The only drawback is that the hardware is cheap. The screws and hinges are made of soft metal. Don't even attempt to use the screws - they WILL break off or the heads will strip no matter now careful you are or how well you've drilled the pilot holes. Just get some better ones and save yourself the trouble. I did that, but used the hinges and unfortunately, broke one of them the first time I closed the door. The screws weren't in tight on the door side and when I pushed the door in, the metal part in the hinge snapped. I've emailed the company to get a new one, but still may get some better ones at the hardware store. I am a small 53-year-old woman and installed this myself, except for lifting the unit into the opening. My husband helped with that as it is heavy. I have a Rowenta Precision iron and it fits nicely on the shelf. This is a well made product, just has cheap hardware. You will do yourself a favor by buying better hardware yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Decision to Purchase Ironing Board Unit This was a smart purchase for us. I loved this unit in another house, another lifetime, and it works beautifully in the laundry room I just remodeled. It is so convenient to just pull down and then, put away instead of dragging the big ironing board out. I used to leave it up all the time but it took up so much room. Installation was pretty easy overall. Staining the oak door to match my other cabinets made it look like its been there forever.. LOVE IT! In fact, my husband is ironing right now. He loves it too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value From other reviews, I bought this product knowing that the hardware was substandard and that I would need to replace it. Turns out, the hinges were half metal and half plastic and were clearly not going to last. I bought external hinges from home depot and some better screws to secure the product to the wall and am very happy with the result. For an extra $5 in hardware purchases, this product is as good as models that cost twice as much. Why the manufacturer doesn't do this to begin with is a complete mystery to me.
