Energy Star 35-Pint Dehumidifier-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from works great! So far, the dehumidifier is working great - humidity reduced significantly in a short period of time as were the musty smells along with the high humiditity. Water basin is easy to remove and does not spill water everywhere when removing/dumping. Reusuable filter is easy to remove and clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it deserves far better than "average" reviews.. For those that DID NOT look at it before they bought it, the packaging clearly states "REMOVES 35 pints PER DAY"; it does NOT say "HOLDS 35 PINTS". Yeah, I just bought one today and it has made a quick difference in just the few minutes ive had it on. Im excited because it is blowing my former dehumidifier out of the water with ..removing... water.. I think above mediocre reviews are not aware that 35 pints is roughly equivalent to 4.5 gallons.. which at over 8 Lbs per gallon is nearly 40 Lbs of JUST water.. not to mention the unit empty wieghs 31.5 Lbs as stated on the packaging. So unless you're looking for a back-breaking dehumidifier that wiegh 80Lbs (imagine picking up 2-40 Lb bags of cement @ once) you're probably going to appreciate and enjoy emptying this smaller-than-35-pint-holding dehumidifier. Its pretty big but not gigantic.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's functional. The dehumidifier works fine. The fan is loud, but it's in the basement so who cares? I don't like the way the water bucket comes out...a little "sticky" mayebe too tight a fit. I keep a pail next to the machine and empty the bucket into the pail every day. The basement is staying very dry...even on damp days. The 'humistat' does not seem to tell the fan to stop when humidity goes below desired level. Let's see if this one gets a recall. I purchased my last two (Kenmores) and each was recalled for fire hazard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Seems the thing just keeps running and running no matter what settings I have it on. Have to turn it off to get it to stop. So far, thing won't quit running. Tried talking to Hisense and got nowhere. Sent email this am and so far haven't heard anything. Not happy at this time. I turn it on and set the fan and humidity % and it just keeps running and running and never goes off. Fan settings don't change when I change from low to high, Fan stays the same.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good I haven't used this product long, but so far it seems to be working well. All the adjustment options are important and useful. It is light weight. It is not too loud, but I run it in the basement, so the noise factor wasn't a hug consideration for me. If it was in a main part of the house, I might have looked for a quieter one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from could be better having had two dehumidifiers before this one, l thought l knew what to expect. all the newly designed ones have this complicated maze like water collection tank, which did have a handle, which was a plus, but was difficult to extract from the unit and didn't really seem to hold anywhere near 35 pints. also, l was unable to achieve the benefits from the multiple settings of speed and efficacy. it was moderately quiet, and did function as it should, but took a long time to fill up a container and didn't seem to shut off when the weather turned to a low humidity. the biggest problem though, was the difficulty being able to extract the tank from the unit to empty it. l finally added the plusses and minuses, and took it back. home depot was very good handling the return, even though l bought it online.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the money This dehumidifier works really well. The first couple days, I had to empty it 3-4 times. Now it gets emptied twice. The only issue is that it never turns off. According to the manual, it should turn off when the humidity goes below the set percentage but it doesn't. Because it's in my master bathroom, I have to turn it off at night because of the noise, although it's not as loud as some I've had.
