Product Overview

This Hitachi kit includes 2 NV45AB2's. The NV45AB2's in magazine, depth of drive and bullet proof design are excellent; you could probably drive an 18-wheeler over this tool and it would still work, in Tools of the Trade Magazine, July/August 2005. The 1-3/4 in. Roofing Nailer is used for various construction works such as the installation of asphalt roofing shingles and the installation of insulation boards. The NV45AB2 has a side load magazine.

  • NV45AB2: 5.5 lbs. lightweight and well-balanced for easy maneuverability
  • NV45AB2: side loading magazine convenient and easy for quick replenishment
  • NV45AB2: tool-less depth of drive adjustment for precision nailing and flush driving
  • NV45AB2: carbide tipped push lever reduces wear
  • NV45AB2: rubber pads help keep nailer from sliding off roof when not in use
  • NV45AB2: quick driving for maximum efficiency
  • NV45AB2: pneumatic power feed and return allows tool to operate in the harshest conditions
  • NV45AB2: long-lasting rubber grip for added comfort

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, Reliable for PROS In the past, we would go through 2 roofing guns per year for our roofing crew. We used mostly Bostitch in the past. When their guns got lighter, they got cheaper. I got tired of retiring them after a couple months of use. We would have them repaired. Again, they would lose a spring, a pin or o ring, leaving them inoperable. GARBAGE! I purchased 3 Hitachi Roofing guns. All 3 work well with no problems. Two of the three are 2 and 3 years old. They are used 3x/week for 40+ weeks a year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best of the best This is the best roofing nailer on the planet. Over 3200 roofs completed with these guns in the past 4 years, need i say more?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tool! I'll start by saying I don't do this for a living. I bought this gun because it received the best reviews on the HD website. I used this gun to place an asphalt roof on my 12x16 shed and it worked flawlessly...I could have bought a less expensive gun but when it comes to tools, you get what you pay for. I was able to bounce and single nail with this gun. Never jammed once. Now that I have tested the waters with this gun I might try and save myself many thousands of $ by replacing the roof on my house myself. A fantastic nail gun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hitachi is the one to buy I bought this Hitachi nailer to do my roof after wasting time on two Harbor Freight units that jammed all the time. This is a professional level tool and works great. Great unit, works well, what more can I say.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great as expected from Hitachi I have a framing nailer from Hitachi and have loved it, so I expected a lot from this roofing gun. I was not disappointed at all as it worked great. Never had a misfire and very easy to use for anyone that picked it up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too many double-fires. Not for the newbie or novice who can't (or doesn't want to) bounce nail and needs to single nail instead. Apparently there is a technique for single shooting nails that doesn't require you fit the optional single-shot trigger, but I just couldn't take the time to master it - I had a roof that actually needed to be shingled. So I bought the Porter Cable gun instead and set the Hitachi aside. Yes, the Hitachi feels like it's built better, but the Porter Cable has a selectable trigger right out of the box - it's not a $75 option that you can only get by mail. In my opinion, if you need a single shot trigger it should preferably a) be right there in the box with the gun or b) be available as a no-cost or low-cost accessory.
