You need an accessory kit. The Home Depot sells lots of them.

Customer Reviews

1/4 in. Crown Stapler and 6 gal. Compressor Kit (2- Piece) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 101.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good concept but disappointing I do finish carpentry professionally and this unit could not keep up with a couple of finish guns. I burnt it up just after the warranty expired. I have read a lot of similar bad reviews. I expected more from Hitachi.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product; Lacking Info Buy this product if you want to confidently install crown molding, door trim, door jambs, window trim, fascia boards, soffits, siding trim (e.g., 1x6 pine), and solid- or laminate-hardwood flooring. The Hitachi EC510 works very well for those applications. Do not expect this product to adequately power a professional-grade paint-sprayer, a texture hopper-gun, or high-torque pneumatic tools; get a higher-CFM compressor for those applications. I've been using the Hitachi EC510, with my Hitachi 15 gauge and 18 gauge nail guns, to install soft- and hard-wood materials of .25"–1.5" thickness: pine crown-molding, casings, baseboards, and jambs; solid walnut paneling and chair rails; and so on. I am very happy with the results! My rating is 4.92 stars because of a minor flaw by Hitachi and a major oversight by Home Depot. . . . HITACHI'S MINOR FLAW: The instruction manual is difficult to traverse because it's poorly outlined and written in very fine print. HOME DEPOT'S MAJOR OVERSIGHT: No CFM rating listed. (The CFM ratings for the Hitachi EC510 are 2.8 CFM @ 40 PSI and 2.0 CFM @ 90 PSI.) . . . Please... please... please! List the CFM specs for every air compressor you sell! It's probably the most important task-specific spec. For instance, the Hitachi EC510's CFM is only adequate for use with one drywall texture hopper-gun: the Wal-Board Tools "Texture-Pro 200." And that's pushing it. (Wal-Board says the gun requires 2.4 CFM @ 90 PSI.) Many of us are looking for a compressor for specific tasks; if it doesn't put out enough CFM, then we can't (or shouldn't) use it for our power tools, paint-sprayer, texture-sprayer, and so on. So, please supply customers with the CFM rating for each air compressor you sell. Everything else you do is terrific! Thanks. (-:{

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy I am a commercial/ residential cabinet installer. I did not even take this compressor to work and yet it failed me with a week or so of use. I lost the receipt, and chose to fix it myself. I have had to weld one of the compressing valves shut just to make the piece of junk ....useable? I still peek out at 105 psi and have to shut it of before the motor overheats. I do not write reviews on any products, however, this product was the biggest waste of my money and truly deserved it. Save those receipts kids!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this product bombed I recieved my little compressor My kids bought for my birthday. It worked fine for a little while but then it started stinking come to find out the motor was burning up ,I do not use this compressor everyday so it should not have burned up, now I use it for my brad nailer around my house and the kids tire now and then. So now what I have to buy a new motor , I guess if I knew ware to pick one up , I would the ec510 was fine for what I do with it, but now its dead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product is great for contractors who need to rapid fire staples . I had a cheaper stapler and replaced it with this one. My main reason was the rapid fire which is amazing. As fast as you can hit stapler to wood its in, you dont have to keep pulling the trigger. It always sinks staples far enough.. However my buggest complaint is, I bought hitachi staples and for some reason I cant explain the stapler will not take 2 clips of staples. I literally had to load stapler by breaking a few staples off each time. I would figure hitachi would either make staples to fit gun better, or make gun bigger to fit the staples. Overall im happy and would recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy so far I bought this stapler to fasten underlayment. It worked great for that. I had never used an air powered stapler before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This stapler was easy to use. It would be nice if it could indicate somehow that it was out of staples. I found a few times that I had used all the staples, but didn't realize it because there would be an indentation in the underlayment where the staple would be. I then had to load more staples & go back & find where the last one was. Maybe this is just my inexperience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thoughtfully designed stapler Had the bostich multi stapler before - had problems with loading mechanism. This one has less moving parts, and less to screw up with. I like the open design to track the staples left, and I like the easy (once I figured it out) depth adjustment. This one looks (haven't had any jams yet) like it will clear easily. It is loud though, so ear plugs definitely recommended when you are using it. (Esp if you are stapling at head height). I am going to check out other Hitachi stuff as i need it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Patricks I'm a carpentry contractor. I really liked this little unit. Really! Until one of the carbon brushes cracked/broke. And, what a surprise; the brushes are not for sale anywhere I could find. Now, that is just NOT what I expected. I was told I had to buy the whole pump/motor. Crazy. I have a number of Hitachi power tools and they have served me and my crews well. But this unavailability of a high-wear part is nonsense.
