The Hitachi Narrow Crown Stapler is designed for building doors and windows and comes with safety glasses, a case and a no-mar tip. Its high capacity magazine holds up to 130-staples and the (tool-free) depth adjustment allows you to change your depth with the turn of a dial. Simply turn the dial to your desired settings and work with a variety of materials. Regardless of how thick or thin the surface is you can simply adjust this stapler to finish the job. This stapler operates at 70 - 120 psi and features bump fire or sequential fire modes. This product weighs 2.3 lbs. and combines strength with ingenuity. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better than a Ridgid I purchase both the Ridgid and Hitachi and this is by far a better unit and now the same price. In the 18ga line this is the best deal. We use the units daily. November 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works very well ! Performs like it should! Light weight ! No skips or jamming !Easy to set up and use! Great price compaired to others ! Fast shipping! Great deal! April 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product; Lacking Info Buy this product if you want to confidently install crown molding, door trim, door jambs, window trim, fascia boards, soffits, siding trim (e.g., 1x6 pine), and solid- or laminate-hardwood flooring. The Hitachi EC510 works very well for those applications. Do not expect this product to adequately power a professional-grade paint-sprayer, a texture hopper-gun, or high-torque pneumatic tools; get a higher-CFM compressor for those applications. I've been using the Hitachi EC510, with my Hitachi 15 gauge and 18 gauge nail guns, to install soft- and hard-wood materials of .25"–1.5" thickness: pine crown-molding, casings, baseboards, and jambs; solid walnut paneling and chair rails; and so on. I am very happy with the results! My rating is 4.92 stars because of a minor flaw by Hitachi and a major oversight by Home Depot. . . . HITACHI'S MINOR FLAW: The instruction manual is difficult to traverse because it's poorly outlined and written in very fine print. HOME DEPOT'S MAJOR OVERSIGHT: No CFM rating listed. (The CFM ratings for the Hitachi EC510 are 2.8 CFM @ 40 PSI and 2.0 CFM @ 90 PSI.) . . . Please... please... please! List the CFM specs for every air compressor you sell! It's probably the most important task-specific spec. For instance, the Hitachi EC510's CFM is only adequate for use with one drywall texture hopper-gun: the Wal-Board Tools "Texture-Pro 200." And that's pushing it. (Wal-Board says the gun requires 2.4 CFM @ 90 PSI.) Many of us are looking for a compressor for specific tasks; if it doesn't put out enough CFM, then we can't (or shouldn't) use it for our power tools, paint-sprayer, texture-sprayer, and so on. So, please supply customers with the CFM rating for each air compressor you sell. Everything else you do is terrific! Thanks. (-:{ January 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to quality I have a couple good quality Hitachi tools and would buy more. This compressor isn't up to their standard. On first startup the tank pressure gage wouldn't move. The needle was actually on the wrong side of the zero pin. The face of the gage isn't flat either, very thin. Too bad, the unit looks nice and is very sturdy. A little better quality on the gages and it would be a keeper...unless something else went wrong. Pretty noisy, but guess all oil free pancakes are. Called the "Please do not return to store, call this 800 number" and the guy said to return it to Home Depot. Ok. Ordered a a Makita. March 31, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Product, Worse Customer Service My compressor worked for about 9 months then developed a leak in the manifold. After some inspection I found that there was a gasket that failed. You cannot buy the gasket though, only replace the entire manifold. Called several shops here in town, call Hitachi central office ((800) 706-7337). Basically was told sorry about your luck... April 4, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not reliable works great when it's holding pressure. Unfortunately, I do two or three projects, and the control knob starts leaking air. I understand that you can remove the knob and reseat the o-ring underneath but that is a temporary fix and the problem will come back. Seems most compressors in this price range have something that's going to fail. February 8, 2013
