Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly as pictured If you want an authentic looking opafiets you will not be disappointed with this bike. Similar bikes cost much more. If you're a purist then don't bother with this and find one imported from the Netherlands, frankly it looks the same. Shipping was fast and the store pickup was very convenient, I was asked if I needed any help loading it into my van. I was a bit concerned as the box looked like it had been opened, making me think it was a return. When I got it home and started unpacking it my fear of it being a returned item vanished as i saw how well it had been packed. Very little assembly is required, if you have no bike building skills then you may want to ask for help or go to a bike shop as the instructions are useless, they cover a few bikes but not this one. It is not hard figuring out what goes where since the most challenging bits have already been put on. As I assembled it I did find some spots with scratches, I can't really even say scratches, more like rub marks from shipping, but they are very minor. Once assembled I had to adjust the fenders a bit to stop them from rubbing, I expected to do that, I have a 1200.00 bike and had to adjust them as well when I bought it, they shift a bit in shipping. The most challenging part was the front brake, it was rubbing against one side of the tire and I have not worked on that style of brake in ages so had to go to the internet for instruction as to how its done. Turned out to be so easy with the supplied tool. I was missing the bolt that held on the light so phoned the company that is listed in the instructions, the man I spoke with was great, he explained that if I was in a hurry I could pick one up at any hardware store but if I wished he would gladly send me one. I opted for him mailing it and I had it in a few days. I wanted to make this as authentic as I could on a budget so wanted the Dutch style lock, after doing a lot of research I ended up ordering one from the Netherlands. In order to mount this style of lock you need to buy a mounting kit on most bikes, but not on this one, it is just like the Dutch bikes and has the mounts already on the frame! Lastly, I have a milk crate mounted on the front rack and have been using the bike for shopping trips, its so fun riding this bike that I look forward to shopping now. April 19, 2016
