I am looking for a large wooden planter for a bench seat setting. Could a few of these planters withstand solid wood planks to become a bench seat?

Answer:
The box arrived fully assembled. It was packed with corner guards to protect the edges. It wasn't too heavy to carry outside by myself and unpack it. As for winter conditions....I'm in Southern California, it's February and it's 75 degrees today. So winter here, yes!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice, perfect size I bought two of these specifically for tomatoes in my container vegetable garden. They are great. Deep enough for stakes to set securely and large enough for more than one plant. I lined with coco roll http://www.homedepot.com/p/Pride-Garden-Products-40-in-L-x-20-in-W-AquaSav-Coco-Roll-CR4020/205087123 which has helped moisture retention. The combo is working very well. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really good looking planters! Great looking planters, good build quality. I don't expect them to last forever (perhaps a few years?) as they're cedar, and wood will eventually start to rot. I suspect that you could stain / treat these against moisture, but for the price, I think I'd just replace them as necessary. They look great along our driveway, where we have planted hibiscus shrubs. Not much to really report other than all 7 that we ordered came in good condition, and are of a form, fit, and function as anticipated. I'd definitely purchase these again. June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy and attractive planter boxes These were shipped with good packaging with corner guards. They come pre-assembled and ready to go. We ordered three to grow grapevines. Two are shown on either side of our arbor. The color matchs nicely to our nearby deck. We haven't filled them with potting soil yet, but they seem to be sturdy enough for our purposes. March 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful This planter looks custom made and the only I could find at that size. It is sturdy and good quality. I got four and really enjoy them! July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little garden boxes! The boxes arrived fully assembled-yay! I placed them outside on my very small patio, filled them with planting mix and now have lettuce and arugula happily growing salad for us. I bought 2 boxes for side by side planting. The second one has seeds planted so I expect something to sprout in a week or so. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Redwood Planter The construction of this redwood planter is exceptional; timely delivery, easy to stain and now each has a beautiful emerald-green aborvitae that resides on either side of our church's front door. May 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ECONOMICAL OPTION I selected these planters because I didn't want to spend $700-1,000 for a pair of more polished large planters. I wanted to 'anchor' my new pergola with large plants on either side, so I modified these to look a little more grand by painting and adding leftover pool tiles—also added blocks on the feet to raise them up. These are roughly assembled with unfinished redwood and plenty of splinters! (be careful when handling). I paid around $54 each and they were a reasonable alternative to others I looked at that were hundreds more. April 28, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value This is an excellent price for a redwood planter of this size. It is held together with staples, so I enhanced the construction by adding screws at stress points to make it more durable. I bought two last year and they held up well over our unusually cold winter so I bought another one this year. My small trees look great in them. November 10, 2015
