Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by OfficerBob212 Nice product with great features, more than adequate locks assembly.
The product arrived on time and without any damage. The installation went smooth even in an older house in which the studs are farther apart than the size of the box. I was able to overcome this easily. Now, as to storage, this at first seemed to be a problem with respect to storing handguns. I overcame this by adding a section of peg board and the appropriate hooks that allowed me to store 6 handguns and a long rifle. I'm happy with the product and am even considering ordering another to be used inside a closet…thus not seen!!

Don't expect this locking compartment to be perfect when it arrives. As several other customers wrote in review, the corners were all bent to heck when it arrived. It is poorly packed and the raw sheet metal corners are not protected enough. I banged them straight and touched up the paint a bit. It installed pretty easily in about two hours. The locks work well but the latch portion of the mechanism did not fit well when locked so the door rattled when closed and locked. I removed the paddles and adjusted the fit by bending them until the door closed the way I wanted it too. I also added aluminum blocks to the door so the inboard side of the latch comes to rest on something solid rather than free air when the door is locked.
You will have to fabricate your own shelf if you want one as this unit does not come with one. It does come with adjustable plastic rests for a long gun but they are useless with this model. There is plenty of room above most long guns for a shelf if you want one.
One more note. Care must be taken when closing and locking the door that your rifles are protected or out of the way of the latch paddles. It is easy to scratch your stock when you lock the door if not careful.
In the end I got what I expected and paid for, but it took work to make it work the way I wanted it to. It's not fort Knox but my two rifles are locked up and out of the way.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greg Good value, a good product for the money
This is a quality product. Not a gun safe by any means, just a convenient lockable steel box of high quality. Locking mechanism is good, but not a dial type combination lock. Perfect to install in the back of a closet to keep guns out of sight for possible burglars and certainly out of the reach of children.
I had seen other reviews here about damage in shipment, and sure enough, I had two very slightly bent corners. They really need to re-think the packaging. Not hard to correct but could have been prevented.

Came in great shape, and installed easy, peace of mind to have in, and full of things I don't want laying around

Once opened, I noticed two corners were bent. Ok bend them back. Then during installation, you will find electrical lines in the walls, so you have to mount above that. Once installed it barely fits my two guns. (only if mags are removed).

I needed a way to secure my guns and this fit the bill without breaking the bank or my back.
It was easily modified to secure 2 rifles and 4 pistols and easily hidden

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AJChandler Corners were dinged
The gun safe came in about a week. Much quicker than I anticipated. The safe is not exactly light and two corners were bent because there was only a thin piece of packing on the sides. I was able to bend the corners relatively straight with pliers and cardboard. There aren't a ton of instructions, but you really don't need much to install the safe. Watch for electrical wires cutting into the wall. Use a handsaw. I circular saw makes to much dust and the handsaw cuts easily. You don't have to worry about being perfect since the safe covers the studs and makes a nice fit. I read you can conceal the safe with a mirror. I liked this idea, but trying to find a 20"x60" mirror to cover the safe locally is almost impossible without spending more than the safe. I built a frame around the mirror to accomplish the task. NOTE: I built some shelves in the safe. The dual locking mechanism sticking into the safe so shelving needs to be planned accordingly. All in all, nice hidden wall safe for a shotgun, rifle and ammo. I like it, but there are some challenges. Secondly, this is not a fireproof safe so don't store documents that can burned in a fire in it.
