Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be applied for a glossy finish on my bathtub that was just refinished by a professional but has a dull, matte appearance?

The "tub doctor" just redid our bathtub but the finish is rather dull. He said he uses this product over his dull finish to achieve a glossy look. He dropped off enough for us to do it ourselves but I wanted to see if it's recommended.
Asked by: MauiDan1
No, Wet Look Cure Seal is not recommended to be used in a bathtub due to longevity issues with hot/code cycles a bathtub is subjected to.

Yes, the Wet Look Cure Seal can be applied over water based stains. Please test in an inconspicuous area first to ensure you like the look before applying to the entire floor.

clay brick application

I am rejuvenating a red, clay brick barbecue. It has recently been acid washed and sealed with a brick sealer. After sealing, it has retained its natural appearance. I would like to brighten it up with a more wet look. Can this product be used for such a purpose? If not, do you have any recommendations?
Asked by: Jallen
Hi John- No, this will not work for that use, or with another sealer. Unfortunately we do not have any other products but I would inquire are your local Home Depot for assistance.

I have used this on my blue stone walkway for over fifteen years without any problems. I get the wet look I am looking for, espically if I do two coats. I find a pump sprayer works best for me. I even use this on the cement floors of my patios and gazebo. It doesn't lift or haze over time. I didn't know that Jaso was sold and couldn't find this product for years. I finally found this product and it's history, but in the mean time I tried Thompsom Water Seal. Big mistake. I had to order this product online through Home Depot because they don't carry it in their stores.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of thin coats Not giving it 5 stars yet until I can vouch for the durability of it- I was using the EAGLE sealer for my project and ran out. Went to Depot and found this stuff on the shelf. It was Clearance $8 from $24 so i was skeptical. Bought one anyways and applied 3 thin coats to my freshly stained concrete basement floor. I stated seeing results I liked so I purchased another gallon. 6 coats later the floor just looks awesome, like glass. I used a coat of floor wax on top and it looks great. Question is how long will it last. If it looks this good in April I'll be using it on my garage floor. The key is lots of prep work, I also use that Eagle Acid Neutralizer/Degreaser before applying this. The floor was 40+ years old but I cleaned it with TSP. Did not ETCH or use Muratic. Used Eagle ACID Stain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Great! WET-LOOK CURE SEAL FOR CONCRETE worked great. My wife rolled on 2 coats on our outdoor slate table which turned out well. It has the desired wet look she wanted. The price was less than the products they had on the shelve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is actually BETTER than some of the more expensive products in this category that Home Depot also carries. This product covers well and is easy to use. It's also easy to clean up. I'm disappointed that the stores no longer stock this product......only available online. Such a shame.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It Does Work, But...... This product has mixed reviews of either it works great or more often than not, it doesn't. I can tell you it does work, but you may need a little more than you think. I had a brand new 400sq ft concrete poured this summer and wanted to seal it before winter. I found this product at my local Home Depot and decided to try it out. I will say, prep work is essential to make this product work. I washed the patio with a wash/degreaser solution and waited 24 hours to dry. The next day I used an acid etcher, since it was new concrete, waited 24 hours to dry. I then used a baking soda solution to neutralize the acid etcher and again waited 24 hours to dry. Now here's where most people might get hung up. The directions say to use a roller, apply 2 light coats, and then reapply for desired look. If you apply just the 2 light coats and be done, you will see almost no difference then when you started. 2 coats is not enough. I did call Homax and asked about how many coats to apply for a wet look and it was a simple answer of how wet do you want it? The more you put on, the wetter it looks. I waited 24 hours for the 2 light coats to dry, applied a heavy coat using a car washing brush which laid it on even and let that dry 24 hours. I applied yet another heavy coat and let dry and wow. The entire patio now has a very wet shine, especially in the sun. This product does work, I can tell you from experience. You just need time, patience, and more coats than you think you might need. I originally bought 2 gallons, but ended up using 6 gallons all together. I would recommend this for small projects only. I don't see this product being cost effective if you plan on doing something that is 600 sq ft or bigger.
