Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Joeytaps ridiculously bad product if you are looking for orange peel
the can does not have enough pressure to push out the product hard enough. It spits out big blobs that would be nice for rough popcorn or suitable for knock down but not orange peel. Now the product also dogs from the ceiling and makes a nice mess on your head and shoulders because it is so watery. tried running can under hot water per instructions, not much better. returned the stuff for a refund. the amount paid is exactly the price of a air texture gun. I'm gonna go get one instead of wasting money on these cabs

Ok, so this stuff works well, but only if you use it right. So, first, it is not a coverup. If you think you can use it to cover cracks or areas where your plaster shrank, poor results. When doing a repair use more plaster than you think you need. Scrap/sand it after it is dry... Do not texture unless it is fixed completely.
Next thing is that it will make a mess!!!! Tape off and tarp off everything around you! Have a damp sponge ready as it cleans up easy before it is dry.
Buy two cans and when you are 4/5 done with a can, stop... The end of the can always splatters... Just have an extra can and you will be good. If there is more than half a can left over turn it fully upside down and spray (into trash or outside in grass) for a second or two and it will clear the sprayer so it is not clogged next time. If there is less than half a can it is not worth saving... You need it full to maintain pressure.
If it is cold, warm this product with warm water to keep the pressure up.
Let it dry a day and spray with kilz for a great hard surface for any paint.
If you are painting it directly plan to do one coat, one time... Do not soak the product with paint and go back over it several times as you might lift it off the surface with a roller.

Against my good judgement, i bought 2 cans to do a very small job. Nozzle clogs and drips. Material is way to watery. Compressed air ran out before i could even get to half the can. I followed the directions to the tee but the product is just garbage. It was more like colored water soaking into the wall. I cant believe that this product was approved for the market. Taking the used and the unused stuff back for a refund. If this product worked for you then you just got lucky that you got a good can out of the millions sold. More power to you. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1920house I hope you like shaking cans
Will you need to shake these cans until your arms want to fall off? Yes
Do you need to protect EVERY surface in your room? Yes
Will you come out looking like you were flocked? Yes
Do you need 3-4 times more product than the can advertises? Yes
Will it hide a major patch job on a plaster ceiling that had previously been covered by a drop ceiling? It sure will.
Definitely worth the extra two cans and the scrubbing in the shower afterwards.
Not sure why so many people had such trouble with this, it was a quick learning curve for us. Perhaps they've changed up the formula? I almost didn't buy this after all the poor reviews, but my dad (who was a house painter) insisted it would work. Glad I listened to dad. I suggest you give it a try. Worst that happens is you scrape it off, get your money back, and try a different product.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by AlexG1964 Doesn't seem any easier, cleaner, or cheaper than texturing any other way
After scraping old popcorn ceilings, I thought I would give this spray on stuff a try. We were hoping for some light knockdown texture and unfortunately this spray can stuff was not the answer to our problems. I think the concept is great, but the stuff only sprayed a couple inches from the tip of the short tube attachment and it's very difficult to get an even pattern over large areas. It's possible I didn't prep the can properly, but I attempted to follow the directions completely. It was very messy, certainly not recommended in a finished or furnished room. One can got me about 30 sq ft, and I decided to switch to a trowel and mud for the rest of the project. Unfortunately, I can't suggest this product to anyone looking for a quick, cheap, or clean solution.

Over priced for the amount you get. Bought a couple of them and returned one and used a different method to create the look.

Tried 3 times to get this can to go on the ceiling. Gave up and just used spackle and rolled a brush over it for texture.

Very easy to apply, just spray it on. Can't be simpler than that!
