We bought 3 strands of home accent holiday red led 100 light strands. We need 15-20 feet more. Is there a way to get a 50 light strand? In the Nampa ID store they had 50 light strands of cool white and multicolor but no red. Also, besides the extra bulbs that came in the pack I have not seen any replacement bulbs for sale. I was wondering if I could order 50 red replacement bulbs and buy a 50 light strand in white or something.

Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. These dome lights do not come in a 50 light strand. You can view the replacement LED bulbs we carry here:

Depends on what type of blinking you want. That's one of those simple questions where the answer may not be so simple. But with this type you generally can only make the whole string flash on and off using a controller of some sort (while keeping it simple and cheap). If you want a twinkling or shimmering effect that is more complicated. You can buy simple controllers that will turn a few sets of lights on and off in a fixed sequence. Those are pretty cheap and simple. Then you have more complex solutions like light-o-rama controllers. With one of those these lights can be made to do all kinds of effects and if you want flash to music. Granted you must control the controller with a computer or a standalone show controller for which you build a show using a computer. That's a little work but it is fun and can be addictive. It's simpler than you might think. You can start out with just one controller and do a lot with that one. Read Less

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad in my limited application I will say these have been better for me than some of the other lights I got at big box stores. Granted I think I only used maybe 15 to 20 boxes of these (some red and some multicolor) and I think they are all working here in the 3rd season. That's a small portion of what I have out. The main problem I have with the dome lights is the directional nature of the light but that is perhaps a lesser peeve. The dispersion is better with the conical type. That said, I put out a bit over 50,000 lights this year with a large majority of them being the conical type with a good smattering if the LED C9's. And the C9's have been the absolute worst with the conical type right behind them. And don't even get me started on rope light quality variations. Ever since I started buying them (LED C9's) I end up losing maybe 1/3 each year. Some of those came from here. Some I already had die were brand new ones and I use the cord seals on all my main connections (I bought about 3 cases of those seals here this year) and keep everything up off the wet ground and sealed where practical. That all said, these dome lights fared better than average on lasting. I'm considering going all the way to commercial lights for the long term (commercial grade strings and some retrofit C9's). (Not to mention my aggravation that the local stores carried very little stock this year - including my closest HD) I put out 40 new strings of the commercial grade lights this year and not a single light has gone out after a LOT of rain. Getting back on topic in my long winded way...But in terms of the big box store lights I will say these older dome lights I bought have held up better and compare more favorably to the commercial lights (which cost about 2 or more times as much on a good day). Granted I only bought a few more this year so I can't say for sure the quality continues to be the same this year as from years past for the long run. Like some people alluded though. It is a lot of work putting up a lot of lights and who wants a big portion of them to die before even one season is over ? Who has time to redo them ? If you have that happening you have not saved anything on the whole. But if you get a good enough deal and use them somewhere a few going out won't show then these cheaper ones can serve well enough and save some $$$. For instance I have 3 large ornaments made of chicken wire and wrapped with these dome lights (800 lights on each one - about 2 ft in diameter each). I'm not sure I could spot it if just one string of those went out. They are pretty dense and thus forgiving if some do die. (see picture) These are in season 2 and I have not noticed any out. So yeah, better than the conical lights from those other guys for durability if you can overlook the directional light that occasionally blinds you a little. December 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bright Lights! These are great, bright, real red light strings! UL listing is a huge plus!!! January 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Love color; half not working I bought 3 boxes of the red and 5 boxes of the green (8 total), all went up the day after Thanksgiving. Within a week, 5 strings stopped working. It is so frustrating b/c it was a lot of work and we spent quite a bit of money on Christmas lights, just to have them stop working within a few days. I thought LED were supposed to last?! Will try replacing fuses, but not sure these are worth it if the fuse goes out so quickly. Disappointed... December 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good lights, bright, fairly even output for a dome. These are bright, good color representation and uniformity, they do have a hotspot, but are visible at off angles. Bottom line, for a dome, they are bright and durable, but if you want a light that looks bright at all angles of view, get a non-dome light set. December 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty red I purchased these lights to put in a basket of poinsettias. The color is so brilliant it made them pop. They made the flowers so pretty against the green folliage. January 5, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice at first...but 3 of 5 strings failed after one season If you buy these, plan to throw away half more of the strings each year. I loved the color and intensity but 3 of 5 strings I bought last year failed by the end of the season. The bulbs don't burn out but the strings fail, either half a string at a time or a full string. I'd gladly pay more for better quality manufacturing of the sockets in order not to have to throw them away each year. December 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Save energy and looks great Save energy and better illumination than incandescent, using for 3 weeks and works well... December 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Red Lights I bought atleast 25 boxes of these this year and they all worked excelent! They look great and did exactly what I hoped they would do. I look forward to useing theses of many years to come. I hope Depot has a sale on them after Chistmas becuse I will definatly stock up. December 5, 2013
