The last section of this string light went out. I've replaced each one with one of the replacement bulbs and they still didn't cut on I noticed a resistor looking thing near the first light that went out towards the end, I'm wondering if that's the problem?

Answer:
The set I have has many broken LED contact legs. This means there is no continuity within that portion or leg of the circuit. If you notice there are I believe five of the load resistors on the string. which means five sections that light individually. I went bulb by bulb checking each one and found many were broken in each section. I took good bulbs from the last section and kept swapping out until I Read More

I purchased these lights last year and one section (about 6 feet) is not working. Is there a way to repair these lights? Just before the section that is not working is what looks like a fuse holder (but it's not) that says 30C on it. Please help!

Customer Reviews

Rated 1.8 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst light set ever Bought a spool to fill gaps I had in an old set that had a section out. Within a week two sections were out. I had already trashed spool label and wasn't about to take them down so I let it go until end of season when I took them down Jan.15,2016. Entire string was out. Trouble shooting revealed numerous LED's had 1 leg broken at bend when inserted at assembly apparently. Partial contact or water in the socket will make them dim or flicker. The company that makes them Ting Shen has a shaded reputation IMO with numerous claims for faulty products. Just look at the photo for an idea of how many were broken and those are the ones I managed to keep. January 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by junk like everyone else. purchased in 2014, put away to use this year and two sections are out. no easy way to troubleshoot. very disappointed in Home Depot. November 30, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't Work (11/2015) DON'T BUY. These lights don't work. After less than one week up outside, Portions of both strands went out. This year, I decided to spend more on LED lights so that I wouldn't have this problem. These lights are not the solution. Stick with the name brands. I'm disappointed in Home Depot having something of this low quality on their shelves for more than one season. When I went to the store to return them, there were MANY of the same exact items on the return shelf. Reading the reviews here - I wonder why Home Depot continues to sell this product. It's obviously defective. December 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor quality I've purchased a number of these strings and finally gave up on them. I leave my lights up year around and I literally have some LED light strings (not these) which have stayed lit for 8 years! These are the other end of the quality spectrum. Within weeks you'll have sections that won't light and within months you'll likely throw them away. I love the fact they are long strings, but that's the only positive thing I can say. Home Depot, please find a long string of LED lights of better quality to sell. December 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Short lifespan I purchased 2 spools (without reading reviews first), and strung them along my fence. The lights were plugged into two outlets and on a timer so they were not on all day and night. 3 weeks later half of the lights weren't working (one string from each outlet). I didn't keep the receipt. Very disappointed. DON'T PURCHASE, period! January 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Garbage Bought these and in less than 10 days entire sections of 5-10 lights all across strand went out & another strand went completely out. Changing fuses did nothing & no way to trouble shoot. Without receipt store said could only refund $1? Said lowest price was $1 yet I paid $23 & they are still $23! Would only exchange for same. There were no more white in stock so took colored ones hoping another location has white in stock, so far no. Stuck with one strand of colored. December 17, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty lights Loved how these lights looked on our house lining the garage. But half of them stopped working three weeks after we bought them. Was hoping to use these next year. Disappointing. January 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Eight strings purchased and all but two failed I purchased eight strings of these lights and after several return trips to Home Depot, all were working fine for about ONE WEEK! Now, six of the eight strings have nonfunctional sections. I wasted nearly two hours working on them but finally gave up after changing numerous bulbs and fuses. I'm returning all eight sets to Home Depot today hoping for a refund. January 2, 2016
