Very pleased with this product. Can adjust umbrella to shield sun from all directions enabling the deck to be used during the daytime hours. Very happy with product and would make one suggestion. We live in an area that has a lot of wind and umbrella kept twirling when closed, we put a binge cord around the closed umbrella and attached to stationary pole. Will send photo if I can get it attached. I think this would be a good addition and a good sales point.

It arrived as described and was easy to assemble by myself. Opening and closing is simple but includes a clip 7ft off of the ground. The canopy sways slightly in the wind when fully open. I have had it outside in full weather exposure for a month now. I store it fully down without a cover. The materials and finishes are unchanged after rain, wind and 6hrs a day of direct sunlight.

we decided to try a cantilever umbrella because our table umbrella didn't provide enough shade from the shifting sun. and it was annoying when we tilted it to shade the table from the setting sun. we made a great selection! this umbrella provides great shade, is easily moved as the sun moves, and can be titled when the western sun sinks toward the horizon. since the umbrella is not attached to the table, it is much less intrusive. whoever thought of this idea deserves kudos!! finally, a shorter person may have to reach high to tilt the umbrella. a foot stool would be helpful for some people.

We saw the good reviews on this product and decided to give it a chance. It looks great, it works great and had a better price than most umbrellas of this style. And most of those had poor reviews, saying they broke quite quickly. We keep the umbrella down until we need it, as we get a lot of wind here. It's held up fine and gives great sun protection. I recommend it highly!

We are on umbrella number two. Both of the umbrellas internal cable snapped making the first and second unusable. The umbrella does not go all the way up, gets stuck, and then snaps the cable. The cable guiding the umbrella up and down is a thin piece of string. Flimsy beyond belief. We didn't even get to use the second umbrella.....I love home decorators, but this is a real lemon.

Did not get into the assembly of this umbrella so no comments there. However, the color of the canopy is grossly misrepresented by the image on the product listing. Rather than being "mocha" and canvas, as appears on the picture, it is a blend of camel and black polyurethaned raffia threading. In other words, it ends up looking like a straw umbrella and not the elegant canopy I was expecting

I reserved my comments until I had actually used it for some time. The quality and workmanship appeared excellent. However, I found I could not use on days with a very moderate wind (flops around ) and living on the coast severely limited our use. When I recently tried to open the umbrella it did not open but separated from the frame and was hanging by the crank cord. I contacted the manufacturer and was informed that they do not make nor have spare parts for the frame and consider it not repairable. Without the frame the umbrella is useless. I asked for a copy of the schematic so I could try and fix myself. They do not have schematics (frame is made in China) but would email what they had. That was several weeks ago and I haven't heard from them yet. BUYER BEWARE

It was easy to put together and set up. We had patio stones to weigh it down and that made the difference. The cantilever mechanism sticks a bit going up and down, but it seems to be getting easier to use it. It gives good shade. The material is a bit see through, so if you are looking for cave like darkness you won't get it. It's more like under a tree. It does have plastic smell that we find unpleasant, but it is getting less and less.
