Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mallory0405 Hysterical Instructions
This shelf looks like it does on the website but be aware that there are six wooden parts for this shelf that have to be put together - in order and right side up. The instructions went something like this: "please hang clothes, through hangers on after the next four holes in the wall do four salad, then remove hangers." Yep. So buyer beware there. Other than that, there is a picture of the assembled shelf with all the bolts and cams shown going through the holes - one picture, not several. I got through it and I do like the shelf.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by McDadeTX Antique Cream really is green
and it's a horrible shade of green, kind of yellowish, that does not look good against any color. Assembly is not bad, the illustrations are self explanatory, which is good because the text that goes with the images makes no sense what-so-ever. I primed the heck out of it and painted it a true light cream color, but I don't think it's going to hold on the finish they applied (and I'm sure the 'hand applied' description does not mean 'by a person'). I purchased this and the matching bench for a front entry, but with the color issue and doubful paint job, it's going to end up at the back door, outta sight! Very disappointing...... I would also think Home Decorations would review the products before they sell them on this site.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Podunker ATQ CRM = Harvest Gold
Well despite the warnings about color in the reviews I went ahead and ordered the white/maple 9 hook rack. I'm wishing I'd gone with the sonoma rack. The "Antique Cream" is actually Harvest Gold. I know this because I have a 1975 house with original Harvest Gold fixtures and this rack matches *PERFECTLY*. Unfortunately, that's not the look I'm going for. I'll have to paint the rack white but since it's unassembled I'm not anticipating any problems.
You have been warned! If you don't feel like painting don't order the white/harvest gold!!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Kp778 Color not accurate
I purchased the maple/antique white 5-hook shelf, despite the reviews regarding color. It's true--the color is not a white at all--more like an olive green. However, the color still goes with the color scheme of the room for which it was intended. I figure that I can always paint it, if the color doesn't work in a new location (we're military and move frequently). I have not assembled the piece yet, so I do not know how easy/difficult it is to assemble--I will leave that up to my handy husband!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by LaRayne Very disappointed
The picture and description and the actual product are incongruent. The white is actually a cross between yellow and light green. The maple fininsh is "red" in appearance. The hooks looked to be an antique brass fiinsh and are actually flat black. Overall the product was misrepresented. In order to use it I had to have it painted and refininshed. Probably could have had one built for less money! Makes me leary of ordering products in the future.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by lsparrow I would reccomend
The shelf is very nice and it looks great in my foyer. It did take me a long time to put it together because the instructions were translated incorrectly. It would of been nice if they provided caps or darker screws because the ones you use to hang the shelf are exposed. My advice would be to have someone help you put it together because you need more than two hands to hold one part while you are screwing another part. Otherwise, the assembly becomes a little loose.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Buckeye123 Unexpected color
We have purchased many items from Home Decorators and have always been very happy. This shelf was our first purchase that disappointed us. We choose the maple/antique cream version but when it came it had a very yellow tint to the "cream" color and was not neutral at all. The shelf itself is constructed well and is a good product but be advised that the color "antique cream" may not be exactly what you expect!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Karen4711 Sturdy and practical for a small space.
This shelf has sturdy iron hooks that can hold multiple heavy coats. It is well constructed with good visual instructions to follow ( the written portions are not translated very well into English). It is moderately difficult to put together if you use the odd metal tool provided. Best to find your own screwdriver! Once assembled it looks great and is good value for the money.
