I have the larger shoe cabinet and the assembly is quit frustrating! We did have to drill new holes because the doors did not sit evenly with the pre-drilled holes. Having 2 people to assemble this cabinet is almost a necessity!
I, like many others, did remove some of the dividers so that my husband's shoes could fit and he only wears size 9. But this is fine since I use the cabinet to lessen the clutter of shoes by the front door.
As for looks, I really do like it and it is a sturdy piece of furniture that does not look cheap. I would recommend buying to anyone who is considering it!
Despite the assembly frustrations, it was worth it!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CCon The cabinet barely fits one woman's shoe, so I don't see how it would ever fit a man's shoe. Good thing my husband does not have very many shoes, so he can put them elsewhere. The only way this would fit 24 pairs of shoes is if they were all sandals, and even those are a squeeze in one compartment. All other pairs are one shoe to a compartment. I do like the cabinet. If space will accommodate one of the larger cabinets, I would suggest that. The only reason I bought the smallest cabinet is because the space I have is only wide enough for this cabinet. Picture on website only showed pictures of the larger cabinets and the compartments look big enough.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BillF Looks good funcitional problems
The shoo storage cabinet looks great but does not work as well as I had hoped.
The cubical for shoos are too small for a pair of men's shoos and marginal for a pair of women's shoos. A single cubical is even marginal for a single men's shoo.
An individual cubical s 3 5/8 inches by 5 inches by 12 inches. The depth is fine for my size 10 shoos but would not handle much larger men's shoos.
I was able to make the device more usable by pulling out the center divider. It is still a little tight for a pair of men's dress shoos but it is doable. It will also hold a single hiking boot.
The attached picture shows this modification.

I am impressed with the quality of this cabinet. I could smell the new stain when I opened the box. Assembly went pretty well. Follow the directions and there should be no problems. It took 2-3 hours to assemble though. The only problem we ran into was that the front door panels had the hinges attached but there were no holes drilled into the cabinet to attatch the other side of the hinges. Other than that I love the unit. It works great. I left out 2 of the shelving partitions inside to give some extra room to put shoes side by side. I still have more than enough room. Would highly recommend this purchase. It is beautiful!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Katydids good option for shoe storage
I couldn't decide between a shoe storage bench and a shoe storage cabinet until I came across this design for the cabinet. It looks really nice and is of sturdy construction. I am really pleased with the way that I can store all the shoes - especially all my kids' shoes - away and out of sight, yet they are still easily accessible to get to when we're out the door. I do recommend leaving some of the dividers out. While my kids' shoes fit comfortably two to a slot, for my and my husband's shoes, we need a little more room. Instead of the advertised 42 pairs of shoes that can be stored, we store 24 pairs. Still ample room for our needs, but keep that in mind when purchasing.

The nicest thing was that this was easy to find on the internet, and delivery was exceptionally fast. It came with extra pieces, which was very nice, and especially since one of the dowels was broken. Now the bad: Some of the dowels fit OK and some oversized and could not fit at all. One of the cam bolts broke as things were trying to go together. Because the dowels didn't fit, the sides and the top decorative braces did not go together. The phillips screws were not deep enough for most any of the phillips screwdrivers I own. Lastly, the grid inside (for the shoes) simply sits inside and is not secured at all.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by APSHNS I ordered the medium size hutch and the craftsman mirror. I received my items within a week. I was able to assemble this with only a screw driver and a hammer. I used a towel under the hammer to avoid denting the wood. Like other reviewers, I omitted the two center vertical dividers to create some larger cubbies down the center. Small cubbies will fit one pair of flats. I can cram one cross trainer shoe (women's size 8)into a small cubbie. The large cubbies accommodate a pair of men's tennis shoes (size 9.5). This item looks beautiful with the mirror above it. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I wear a size 8 1/2 to 9 med women's size, and only my flats, sandals, and very low heels fit in the slots. All my 2 1/2 in heels (I don't wear very high heels) remain in their shoe boxes. Very disappointing since I had hoped I could solve my shoe storage problems with this product. It is quite handsomely made, and looks great in my bedroom. I did not return it since at least I was able to store some of my shoes. I recommend a rethinking of the size of shoes used by both the average women, and forget a man's shoe, none fit and my husband does not have a large shoe size, 8 1/2 med.
