We were very pleased with the quality and the warm wood tones.
Assembly took some time and patience, but they turned out to look like professionally made shelves.
They take the weight of books and decorative plates.
2 sets fit side-by-side beautifully. .

I wanted a bookcase in the kitchen that could be no more than 12 inches deep. I finely found this at Home Depot. The quality is very good and the parts fit good. I did strip one screw hole, but a piece of a wood tooth pick in the hole solved the problem, the screw went in just fine. Now I have all my cook books in one place. At 76 I'm learning to cook.
PS I can't be eligible for the $1000 since I don't have a digital camera. Well everyone isn't high tech.

joints were not all perfectly flush, but pretty good quality, good color tone on the wood stain, and a great value. took under 30 minutes to set up.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1craftsmanfan OK but not great
This bookcase seems to be sturdy and looks OK, but the finish is not very good. It will be filled with books, so that won't be as noticeable as on some other furniture pieces. Because of the finish, I counted off on the value.

Looks good and is easy and quick to put together. Solid wood, but it's not clear what kind of wood. Only some of the parts are labeled, so be sure to lay them out first. The stickers are very hard to peel off, so it's good that everything doesn't have a sticker on it. The wood scratches easily, so be careful when you try to scrape off one of the stickers. Still, it seems very solid, much better than the folding type of bookcase.

The bookshelf looks nice now. BUT my husband had to re-drill the holes for the top because it originally did not overhang evenly on both sides! Also, there are 6 holes on the top shelf braces which should have had little plugs to hide them, as there are for the side holes where the screws went in. The stain was obviously sprayed onto the side walls, but places were missed. One shelf started to crack when he screwed in the screw. So...I do like the style, but the workmanship could have been better.
