Customer Questions & Answers

Are both sides of this vanity top finished? Or are they rough and unfinished looking? If one side was not against a wall would it not look smooth ?

Asked by: Micky
Micky, Thank you for your inquiry. We can confirm that the front, left, and right hand side of the Stone Effects vanity top in Capri are finished. The only areas of the vanity top that are not finished would be the back and underside area of the vanity top. Best Regards,

What is the best product to use for cleaning a St. Paul stone effects vanity and other care requirements?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your interest. Gelgloss and any other non abrasive cleaner. Water and a paper towel work well too.

Our vanity is attached directly to the wall on the right side. Is it possible to cut off 1/2 inch off the right side of the top to make it fit properly? Or can it be ordered already cut that way? We would cover that end with a sidesplash.
Asked by: Hobbyist
Hobbyis, We can confirm that although the material of our cultured marble products can be cut, we would not recommend modification as any alterations to our products will instantly void your Limited Lifetime Warranty. Nevertheless, we have received information from past customers that have been able to use a circular saw with a masonry blade, cutting from the unfinished side, without any damage. However, I do need to point out that the edges you alter will show white as the finish goes only 1/8 in. through the vanity top material, therefore, any modifications must be hidden. Best Regards.

I need to replace the "31 backsplash that came with my sink. I have been unable to find just that part online. Additionally is there a backsplash that is over 54 inches in length for this style?
Asked by: bob
Bob, Thank you for your inquiry. We can confirm that the backsplash to the Stone Effects Capri vanity top is not sold separately from the vanity top combo and we do not sell any backsplash separately online. However, if you feel like what you are experiencing is due to a defect in the material or workmanship of the product, our best recommendation would be for you to reach out to our Customer Service team for your limited lifetime warranty replacement options. All you would have to do is call 1-800-235-7747 (Mon-Fri / 8 AM CST-5 PM CST) or e-mail them at Best Regards.

Customer Reviews

31 in. W Stone Effects Vanity Top in Capri with White Bowl is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from One feature I found unsatisfactory. The price for this item was a great value. It also brought great beauty to my old and outdated bathroom. The only down size I find with this item is the scratch factor! Although it is a synthetic granite counter, I know that the shine and flawless look will not last long due to the scratches.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice top but I also had a small defect in the finish Remodeled bathroom & wasa choosing between a granite top or the Stone effects top. I liked the rectangle sink in the Stone Effects top as opposed to the oval sink in the granite top. Top was very easy to install & I did purchase the side splash. I wish the back splash & side splash were a little taller. After installing I noticed a very small section about an inch X half inch where the finish looked crinkled. The light had to be just right to see it. If I had seen it before installing I would have purchased the granite top. I called St Pauls customer service. They told me to email a picture of the defect. I did two weeks ago & have never heard back from them. I do not plan on replacing it but wanted to know if there is any danger of it getting worse. Like I said the top looks great in most lighting situations. Just wish I received a feed back from the company.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Great! Less costly than granite but BE SURE TO INSPECT THE TOP VERY CLOSELY B-4 YOU INSTALL IT I priced a natural granite vanity top and was quoted $350, and I install. Their installer was additional $250. At $169 this unit was a bargain I purchased Delta faucets an installed them while the top was in the garage. I carried the completed top into the bathroom and set it on the vanity after I applied an adhesive. I completed the plumbing hook up. I was wiping down the top and noticed an imperfection in the finish. It appears that a drop of solvent was dropped on the top or a small spot about the size of a dine was not coated with the gloss finish. If the top was not completely installed I would return it to Home Depot and get another and time around I would have inspected it VERY closely. I'll have to live with the result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful but discontinued sidesplash I was lucky enough to be able to get a sidesplash for this, but buyer beware, check for it BEFORE you buy this, because it was discontinued and oos in almost every store. The sink itself is fantastic tho.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great look and functionality for our bath!! We love these vanity tops so far in our newly remodeled master bath. Also, there is a sidesplash available for the Capri but only the 22 inch one. The 18.25 inch has been Discontinued.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks and feels like granite and a fraction of the cost. I love this counter top. The coles that this has will pick up on just about any color you have in the room, and feels very solid like granite. It was also extremely easy to install. I just placed some liquid nails on the wood face, then layed this down right over it. Then just add the back plate that comes with this and walla, you have a beautiful vanity that looks high end. Great buy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking but .. I bought this top to update my husband's bathroom. It looks nice and fresh, but after the faucet was installed and the top glued down, I noticed from a distance that behind the faucet by the backsplash it caves in slightly. As a result the backsplash doesn't sit flush on the top so there's a gap about 6" long where the backsplash meets the top. Will be filling it in tomorrow with a sealant. It bugs me every time I look at it but it would be too much work to take it off to return it. Also ordered online the sidesplash and it arrived with several deep scratches on it. The stores nearby didn't have any in stock, so I had to order another one. I'm hoping it won't be scratched. But it does make me wonder what the top will look like in a year. I know it was inexpensive, but I would have expected it to meet minimum standards. Beginning to wonder about the Home Depot since I also had to return a Danze faucet which was defective.
