I bought this top to update my husband's bathroom. It looks nice and fresh, but after the faucet was installed and the top glued down, I noticed from a distance that behind the faucet by the backsplash it caves in slightly. As a result the backsplash doesn't sit flush on the top so there's a gap about 6" long where the backsplash meets the top. Will be filling it in tomorrow with a sealant. It bugs me every time I look at it but it would be too much work to take it off to return it.
Also ordered online the sidesplash and it arrived with several deep scratches on it. The stores nearby didn't have any in stock, so I had to order another one. I'm hoping it won't be scratched. But it does make me wonder what the top will look like in a year.
I know it was inexpensive, but I would have expected it to meet minimum standards. Beginning to wonder about the Home Depot since I also had to return a Danze faucet which was defective.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cmill Looks and feels like granite and a fraction of the cost.
I love this counter top. The coles that this has will pick up on just about any color you have in the room, and feels very solid like granite. It was also extremely easy to install. I just placed some liquid nails on the wood face, then layed this down right over it. Then just add the back plate that comes with this and walla, you have a beautiful vanity that looks high end. Great buy!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MW69 Flat - causes water to flow off edge!
I've had this sink installed in a brand new bathroom for one full year.
PROS: I love the look of it, and it has stood up to two teenage girls.
CONS: So dissappointing... the sink is so flat that any water that gets on it will flow right off the edge rather than back into the sink bowl. One week after installation we had to replace the vanity because the water destroyed it. We moved the new vanity a little closer to the wall and sealed the daylights out of it when reinstalling the sink. BUT water still runs off the open side, still damaging the vanity (but not to the point of replacing yet) and even damaging the paint on the wall. I have to keep a chamois cloth on the sink to stop the water, but that is not a solution. I am so tired of dealing with water in this new bathroom. I do not recommend this sink. They needed to slant the top slightly toward the bowl for water to drain, like my other sink that is probably 40 years old does.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ed27278 Nice top but I also had a small defect in the finish
Remodeled bathroom & wasa choosing between a granite top or the Stone effects top. I liked the rectangle sink in the Stone Effects top as opposed to the oval sink in the granite top. Top was very easy to install & I did purchase the side splash. I wish the back splash & side splash were a little taller. After installing I noticed a very small section about an inch X half inch where the finish looked crinkled. The light had to be just right to see it. If I had seen it before installing I would have purchased the granite top. I called St Pauls customer service. They told me to email a picture of the defect. I did two weeks ago & have never heard back from them. I do not plan on replacing it but wanted to know if there is any danger of it getting worse. Like I said the top looks great in most lighting situations. Just wish I received a feed back from the company.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jimmy Looks Great! Less costly than granite but BE SURE TO INSPECT THE TOP VERY CLOSELY B-4 YOU INSTALL IT
I priced a natural granite vanity top and was quoted $350, and I install. Their installer was additional $250. At $169 this unit was a bargain
I purchased Delta faucets an installed them while the top was in the garage. I carried the completed top into the bathroom and set it on the vanity after I applied an adhesive. I completed the plumbing hook up. I was wiping down the top and noticed an imperfection in the finish. It appears that a drop of solvent was dropped on the top or a small spot about the size of a dine was not coated with the gloss finish.
If the top was not completely installed I would return it to Home Depot and get another and time around I would have inspected it VERY closely. I'll have to live with the result.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Randoozle Not a Granite top
I was surprised to discover after pulling it out of the box that this was not actually a granite vanity top. After looking at the description I see that it does not claim to be but. I shouldn't have been surprised considering the low price. It is a well done imitation of granite though. I give it three stars for being quite expensive for a cast vanity top.
