I would recommend mounting to studs....mounting to plasterboard only will very much limit weight it can support. even mounted to studs shelf will not hold a full load of nooks. holds cable box and DVD player with no problem..

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Luci inaccurate measurement listed!
First, it's a nice shelf and I don't think other people will have a problem with the inaccuracy of the listed measurement - BUT - I had gotten it for a tight space up above the foot of the staircase and the listed measurement was just a smidge under the exact measurement that would have fit. When it got here it was more like 36 1/8 instead of 35.4. Since it was being wedged between two walls I was able to trim it to fit so I'm happy though. If you need to trim it - it's hollow inside which makes it easy. Also, just fyi - the packaging indicates that it will support 15 lbs
overall it's a good shelf for what I needed

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Mina Simple and Tasteful Display
Bought a few to display figures in my room. Went up very easily and look great on my white wall; they really make the figures look like they're floating! Study and sleek. Good option if you're looking to display relatively light items.

Rated 1 out of 5 Too bad...
My wife and I ordered two of these for our baby nursery. Online these appear perfect. Then, the box arrives and you unpackage them only to find out that not one but both shelves were busted. The material seems really cheap and poor quality. We purchased the more expensive ones with high hopes that the quality might justify the price tag. Needless to say these will be returned to our local Home Depot in the morning.. Too bad.
