I purchased these floating wall shelves to display photos from trips we have taken. The shelves are very narrow, which is what I wanted, and was having trouble finding. They work really well for displaying the photos... I am able to change and move photos around without leaving nail holes in wall!! May need to get some more for other areas of the house! I do wish they came in a lighter brown...the chocolate is very dark and I would have preferred a bit lighter. Not too difficult to hang, just need a level and some patience!!!

We bought this to display a vintage Lionel train. It worked out good because the wheels of the train fit over the little rail on the front. If the shelf had been wider we wouldn't have been able to show the wheels. The color had a little red tint to it. I tried to darken it with some Old English scratch cover but the finish wouldn't take it; but it is close enough to the color I wanted. There were two extra holes in the back like someone drilled the holes in the wrong spot. It all worked out. It's cute and I look seeing the train wheels.

The shelf is attached to the wall by a bracket that has two 5 1/4 inch pegs that slide into matching holes drilled into the back of the shelf. Because the holes in the shelf are so much larger than the pegs, the shelf hangs down in the front. To make matters worse, in the first 1/4 inch or so, the pegs fit the holes relatively tightly, while further into the holes they are very loose. This forces the front of the shelf to sag even when objects on the shelf are placed near the back. In addition, 2 screws were provided to attach the shelf to the bracket. One of them had no slot for a screw driver.

This shelf is a flimsy piece of garbage. The holes on the bracket are too far forward, so even if you reinforce the bracket to the wall with more anchors than are included, the shelf won't sit flush with the wall. This causes all of the weight to be supported by a very lightweight shelf on a very small wall bracket. The wall takes none of the strain because of the gap between the shelf and the wall and even a small amount of weight on the shelf will cause it to sag. I used 8 anchors on a 36" shelf and it still sags because it isn't actually touching the wall at all. DO NOT BUY THIS FLIMSY PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!

First, the gray stain on this wooden shelf ledge was unevenly finished with visible drips in a couple of spots on the front of it. Secondly, the wood was bowed to the point that it could not be leveled against the wall. On the plus side, other than having to drive to a UPS store to return it, the return policy was pretty simple and the customer service contact was pleasant.

Decent shelves, pretty easy to install. I ordered two, one of them is great but the other one doesn't hang quite flush to the wall because it was obviously cut wrong. Otherwise, they hold more weight than I expected and definitely get the job done.

Just what we wanted. Wish they offered in a longer size.
