I ordered this TV stand for our finished basement after searching for a quality corner stand at a reasonable price. The finish isn't really a light oak - it's more medium with a bit of a reddish hue. The instructions for assembly were easy to follow. My husband and I put this together in a little over an hour. It would be a bit harder to assemble alone. Unlike some other reviews - we had no problem aligning the doors to the cabinets - everything went together easily. I kept waiting for something to go wrong - but it never did. Once assembled, the stand is very sturdy - you can't even tell it required assembly. Another great purchase!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JohnBoston Good quality but complex install
I just finished putting the corner cabinet together, and can say the following:
The overall quality of materials is decent, actually better than I thought it was going to be.
Some solid wood on mixed with veneers. The stain and finish was very well done, as is the hardware.
I was happy to see the adjustable hinges on the cabinet doors were comparable to higher quality kitchen cabinets (3 way adjustment type).
My only complaint is that I didn't know how much assembly was going to be required. I tried to make the most of it, and made this a 2 hour assembly project with my 8 year old son, and we had fun.
Overall though, solid product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by janiski Great piece for a great price
This stand appears to be very high quality. The wood is nicely finished (there is one piece where there is a wood patch where a knot was...not super attractive but not in a prominent location so not a problem). It truly looks does not look like a piece that I had to put together myself. Even the back is nice...it's wood, not cardboard, which gives the impression of higher quality. It wasn't especially easy to put together but it didn't present any real challenges, and I put it together by myself (50-something woman). I've put lots of furniture together, and that history did made it some easier. Great piece for a great price.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dspin This was a great bargain; I have nothing bad to say. The wood is nice, the holes previously drilled were in the right places, the pieces were correctly marked, you get plenty of screws, and it even comes with a tool to use. The only thing, and the directions mention this, is at certain times during the building process (the corner sections and doors), you definitely need another set of hands to help you.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GoodnHappy Nice Corner Console
This corner TV console is perfect for our media room. Even though it has to be assembled, once it's put together it looks like a regular high-quality piece of furniture, good and solid. Assembly was fairly easy -- I'm a 50-something year old woman and I had no trouble doing it myself. The directions are clear and easy to understand. I did use some wood glue with each of the dowels for extra sturdiness, which helped a lot and is worth the effort. As for overall size, it's just a little smaller than I had envisioned, even after measuring the 48" width, but I still love it. It looks terrific with matching coffee table and two end tables which I also bought.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AshlandLois Love it, must have 2 people to assemble
Put the unit together two days ago and LOVE IT. Very nice quality, good (not terrific) directions. As other reviews have stated... you do NOT want to put this together without two people. The assembly did take us three rather relaxed hours. I look forward to enjoying it for years to come. This is my third piece of to be assembled furniture from Home Decorators... ALL have been terrific buys.

Overall I am extremely happy with this corner TV stand.
My two "Cons" would be the amount of time it took to assemble (a lot of parts and pieces) and the fact that the drawers don't line up. I think this can be rectified and it's not too noticeable.
The color and finish are really beautiful, although I wouldn't call it a light oak, it's more of a medium tone with a bit of a reddish hue. Other than the issue with the drawers, the overall quality of the workmanship was great. I had no trouble with any alignments of drilled hole for the connecting hardware

Looks to be solid wood, not veneered. Once put together, was very satisfied with product. Complaint is with cam-locks which are difficult to lock, especially with the poorly designed Allen wrench that came with the parts.
