I bought this product because it was the most inexpensive one I found. I researched making floating shelves and it wasn't worth my time and cost of materials. I like the shelf...It holds up a small money plant, three battery operated candles and two bibles...I wouldn't put much more weight on it though...It sits on the wall at an angle tilted toward the floor so I fear that any more weight will push it down further. It is well secured to the wall and doesn't appear to be going anywhere. I am happy with the overall product but do not suggest it be used for a book shelf or a trophy shelf or a shelf for anything excessively heavy. A nice addition to our bedroom.

The mounting hardware had sufficient holes to mount it securely to the wall, but the way that the shelf affixed to the mounting hardware results in an insecure mount. The shelf is wobbly on the mounting hardware, not the wall. I tried installing the mount right-side up and up-side down - the instructions did not specify a proper way - and both ways resulted in a sagging and insecure shelf.

Although the shelf mounts easily, there is too much play where the metal shafts fit into the holes of the shelf. This causes the shelf to fit loosely and tilt about 1/4" slanted despite tightening the bottom stop screws. When you look at the shelf from the side the slanted tilt is noticeable and should be concerned about things sliding off.
I even had to buy L shelf brackets (EB-0036-WT) also from Home Depot to keep the shelf at a right angle, so now I'm satisfied with it despite having to spend a little extra money for the L bracket.
Also, I found a very similar shelf at Orchards, where the design was nearly identical even to the mounting screws. The difference is the play between the metal shafts and the shelf was tight, so there was no significant slant. Also Orchards shelf model is 2" thick compared to Home Depot's 1-1/4", so that help maintain a better right angle fit with the wall. Orchard's model was $20 compared to Home Depot's $15, but I rather spend a little extra for a better fit.

The price was right, however the hardware included was not easy to install. The anchors were simply impossible to use. I had to purchase separate hardware to make them work. Annoyed!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by mason2006 Looks great, install wasn't super easy
I like the simplicity of the shelves and the floating look. However, the shelves were more difficult to install that it would seem. Trying to level, drill, and ensure the shelves are flush with the wall really took 2 people. I like the finished product, but for the cheapness of the materials, they shouldn't be $27 for each shelf.
