Customer Questions & Answers

Can't get the drapes to meet in the middle. Right side works great but left side gets hung up. Suggestions?

Asked by: LoriM
Have you checked for line twisting/knotting in the track itself? Twisting/knotting may shorten range of retraction/closure. Might also check the left side rollers and track for pinching.

where is the manual

I wanted to see the parts list, some installation instructions, etc. there are none with the product, none on the home depot web page
Asked by: Anonymous
Mine came with parts manual/instruction booklet. I would contact either the manufacturer or Home Depot Hdqtrs. in Georgia and have them send a booklet to you or your e-mail address. A heads up though, the instructions are confusing, I did better on my own.

84 in. - 156 in. L Standard Duty Traverse Rod Cord Control is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Traverse rod window treatment The window was broken and the curtain and drapery rods were damaged. Replacing just the traverse rod was cost effective. This product was successfully able to be fitted into a 30 year old existing window treatment. It works and looks great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad customer service There are no instructions and the manufacturers answer to a question about where to get them states that they are in the package and not available online. Well guess what. I bought two and also had no directions. If you care about your reputation you would have done something to get them to your customer instead of just saying they aren't available online. I'll be sure not to buy any other products from this manufavturer

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst draw string curtain rods I have ever had the displeasure to buy Instructions are poor, they do not run well, and catch at the joiners. I had to modify the centre brackets as there was no way the hooks would actually pass by without catching. Even after having them up and down 5 times and modify the runners, they still do not run well. They are made of just to thin a metal, with all the wrong angles in the flow of the hooks so the hooks always catch. Also the string is to stiff and binds in its path. You cannot add or remove runner hooks without taking the whole rail down. I love traverse rods and the way the curtains pull back and forth with elegance. These do not, they jitter and grind and just make you very frustrated.!! Poor value because it doesn't matter what the price, if they don't work they are not value. very disgruntled buyer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible traverse rod Don't waste your money or time on this product. I purchased one from a local store to replace a very old traverse rod from the 1960s that had a broken pull cord. I spent at least one very frustrating hour installing the new rod, and in the process questioned its construction and design, wondering if it would work very well since it was very light weight and seemed rather flimsy. After spending some very frustrating time getting the new rod mounted, I hung my curtains and tested it out....WHAT A FRUSTRATING DISAPPOINTMENT!!! After all the time and effort with installing it, the guide pieces continually got hung up when trying to draw the drapes opened and closed, to the point where the guides just simply would not move. I kept trying to give the benefit of the doubt, manually moving the guides with my hand to get them 'unjammed' and rubbing paraffin wax on the track to try and lubricate it ....but to no avail they kept getting hung up and got out of alignment at the center point where the curtains are supposed to meet, it kept shifting further right. I eventually realized that my concerns on the flimsy construction and design were valid. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!.... very frustrating indeed!!!! I'll probably use the pull cord from the new rod and install in the old rod...much better design, materials and functionality with the old one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Cheaply Made, Do Not Buy Bought this rod to hang up in my family room (96 in slider) The rod is made very cheaply and does not fit together well which causes plastic traverse slides to bind at the intersection of the inside sliding rod and the outside. Tried to work around this by making sure that rod was nice, level and straight, but no luck. Even inside carriage binds on the transitions. Also tried replacing the traverse slides with newer ones made of better material, still no luck. Traverse slides also pop out of the tracks onto the floor when hanging curtains. Overall, do not buy this thing. There are better rods out there for the same price. Mine when straight back for a refund!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too light for lined drapes after getting it home and looking at the drapes and rod decided to purchase a different traverse rod from JC Penny that was heavy duty enough to carry the weight of 81" lines drapes over 115" span.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Quality and Useless Directions Don 't waste your time with this product. Price point is good, but a bit more effort, even at offering useful directions, would help. The low price might save you money but the poor quality will cost you time and cause aggravation....pass this over for a better brand.
