Answer:
There is one horizontal shelf behind the doors. It can be installed at one of the three pre-drilled hole sets.
The back is cut out to accommodate plumbing, however, the cutout is very small. You are going to need perfect measurements or a really good plumber to hit the spot exactly. Take a look at my photo. You only have about one square foot to fit.

Answer:
Yes, there is a hole cut out in the back to accommodate for plumbing. There is one shelf behind the doors. We actually didn't even use the shelf, but used 2 wicker baskets instead to separate toiletries for our two children.

I am looking for something modern like this for our home we are building, but this is too small for the master bath. I would like to stay under $750 for vanity and sink/counter. Thank you!

Amanda 36 in. W Single Vanity Top in Dark Brown is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 58.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Product with only two small cons This product is an incredible deal for the money and looks amazing in any modern bathroom! Easy to assemble and matches just about any bathroom finish. The cons: 1) The height of the vanity is far too short. I unscrewed the legs and made a base box out of 2x8 and tiled it to match the floor. It gave it just the lift it needed to work for an adult. 2) The drawers are small and 'cheap'. They aren't even a foot deep and are not on any type of runner or track. They just flop around when you pull them out. One con is easily corrected if you can get creative and the other might be as well if I decide to invest the time into it. All in all, I would recommend this product. Great bang for your buck. (I will stress how important it is for you to understand the hassle of a glass bowl sink. It requires cleaning every day, plumbing installation was a pain in the neck and the faucet continuously splashes out of the bowl.) The first photo is the installed vanity. The second photo is the tiled box I made and installed to raise the vanity and removed the original base/legs. The third photo shows how the drawers just hang. (On some of the photos you may notice a toilet paper holder. That was installed separately and not included) Thanks and good luck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product We are very pleased with the cabinet. It's a nice, heavy piece of furniture. I will say it's much shorter than I anticipated. The measurements are to the top of the bowl, not the top of the cabinet (that part of the measurements I missed). But it's been fine for us because we put it in a child's bathroom. The drawers are a bit cheap but other than that I have no complaints. I would definitely recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Buy but you will Have to Tweak Height THE PROS: This is a beautiful contemporary vanity which appears much more expensive than it is. Granite top, brushed stainless legs, ribbed glass doors, it has many high end features. And while the vessel sink is very plain, it adds contemporary flair. The faucet pictured came with the bundle when I purchased this, and though it is attractive (chrome finish), the quality is not 5 star. Save yourself headaches later and replace the included trap NOW with one of higher quality, you will be glad you did. THE CONS: The height of the SINK is nearly 36" off the floor, however the granite countertop is not. Unless you are a child, you will find the vanity height awkward, it's far too short and you will want to modify this aspect. It can be done several ways (see customer reviews / photos / suggestions for Amanda Vanity at HomeDecorators website). One popular option is to create a floating vanity by removing the steel legs, in this way you can set it at the appropriate height. Because I wanted to keep the legs, I modified the cabinet by first removing the legs, making/adding a 6" wood skirt, and re-attaching the legs beneath the skirt. I covered the wood with a few rows of glass mosaic tile to match the detail in my shower and it looks fabulously custom. I am very pleased with the outcome, it appears very high end indeed. The point here, is that you will want to elevate the height of this vanity. It is simply TOO SHORT "as is" to function comfortably, not to mention it just looks awkward sitting so low. The only other CON that comes to mind, would be the drawers. It is immediately noticeable when you open or close drawers that they simply do not glide well, as fine cabinetry would. It's a simple fix if you care to install drawer glides. I swapped out the knobs for more stylish ones to kick it up a notch, but that is just a personal preference as I was going for a custom, high-end look. SUMMARY: Overall this vanity LOOKS beautiful and is a wonderful buy. It's issues can be resolved with a lot or a little tweaking, how much is up to you. Note: Even if you replaced the vessel sink and/or faucet at a later date, it is still worth the $$ for the granite top and vanity alone! Of course if you're very short or will be putting this in a child's bathroom, you can always just live with it - as is. RECOMMEND - YES

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not bad for the $$ After trying to make my wife happy, I tried the Amanda 36" Vanity after much research. She liked the look of it so I made the purchase. I was looking for a product that fit in an area that was 36" wide. I had to fill it up perfectly. Only the base is not 36", but 34 7/8". I have found this type of modern looking sink at the local plumbing supply house costing upwards from 1000-$2000, so to find one for under 555.00 was an impressive feat in itself. This left $ to get a toilet, mirror, & light fixture all for under 1000. Still can't believe it myself but it is true. I did ask for specs before buying but was not satisfied so I am leaving the actual specs I took as I installed it. The Granite top is 36 1/8"x22"x3/4" and comes glued to the base cabinet. The glue is from China so it takes a good putty knife to get it to separate from the top w/o ruining the wood base. I needed to make the base look like it floated without the metal frame. (After reading many reviews on how too low the sink is I ended up ditching the frame and putting a 2x3 wood frame at 7 1/4" from the floor making it so the cabinet was secure, then getting the top installed after. The top was only 1/8" larger than my area, so I just forced it in the area a bit and only have minor drywall scratches to repair (might not be seen in the pictures or not) The Actual wood Base measures 34 7/8"x 22 1/4"x 21 3/8". The granite top overhangs the front 5/8" while the back of both the cabinet & granite are flush in to the back wall. I'd say I'm pretty happy. I did ditch the P-trap that came with and took a trip to H-D for a new one with a 12" drop-down extension also for another 15 bucks to make sure the drain was solid as many reviews are correct. The drain is made of p%p grade product. As for the faucet, you need to make sure you have a very thin wrench or needle-nose or wire strippers thin enough to tighten down the supply tubes to the botton of the faucet and use pipe thread teflon dope and make sure it's all tight. I had no leaks and so far so good. The overall height of the top of my bowl is now 36 1/2" from the floor by wall mounting. I think I raised it at least 2 1/2"- 3" by not using the metal frame that easily screws off anyway. I do think the included shelf would work out if it was able to be used, but the drain asembly is in the way, so it's pretty much useless at this point. When moving the base, be careful not to damage the front as the wood does get marked easily. I'm considering adding a thin poly satin clear coat to avoid normal wear & tear that will most likly occur with an 8 yr old in the house. One last thing, is the drawers do not slide all too well. The title says everything. You really can't beat it for the price. I got a quote from my local Granite guy of $600 for an installed 36x22" top. For less than that I got the whole thing and only had to spend another 15 bucks for better drain kit. My wife is happy which says it all. My dad came over to help lift it in place and hold the plumbing while I tightened. It was installed in about 4 hours, not bad considering it took 6 months to find it.......... Cyberbri

Rated 4 out of 5 by from With some foot work, a Great Vanity My wife and I looked far and wide for a modern cabinet that would fit the vision we had. There was a lot of the same blah out there, but this one was completely different and very nice looking. Not only that, but it was actually about half as much money as the others we were considering. Hoping it would be as good in person as the pics showed, we went ahead and ordered it. After months of delays in actually starting our remodel, we finally got it installed and couldn't be happier. There were a couple issues, but I will get to those in a sec. The vanity was almost entirely assembled, so there was very little that had to be done before putting it in place. All the instructions were easy to follow and the bags of parts were all labeled clearly with letters on each bag. These are the things we did not like, but were far out shined by the positives. 1. The drain pipes are very nice looking, but absolute trash as far as functionality goes. They did not seal well at all and we ended up replacing the drain lines on both sinks entirely. I called Home Decorators to see what the warranty procedure was for it, and Kevin was very helpful by offering to give me a credit equal to the amount of the parts and then some extra for labor. I opted for that instead of them sending out replacements so I could get it all back up and running right away. 2. There is only enough drain pipe to make it to the wall if you go straight back. I roughed in the drain offset from the down pipe, so I also had to by drain extension pipes to make it back to the wall. Just plan on buying new drain pipes from the sink to the wall and don’t bother with the trash they send you. 3. Like some others have commented, the "working surface" of the counter is very low, I think like 28". I had a new frame work made up for the base to raise the counter height to 32" and am very happy. I am a commercial kitchen contractor, so I had my stainless steel fabrication shop make up a taller base for me that raised the height of the vanity to 32”. It is now the same elevation as a typical vanity and I am very happy. If you would like the same, but don’t know where to look, I can have one made up for you. You can get a hold of me at contactsbenterprises at gmail dot com. Everyone seems to like this vanity, they just do not like the plumbing, nor the height. The plumbing can be taken care of easily enough with a trip to Home Depot, but I understand that not everyone has a fabrication shop at their disposal for the latter. I have the stand for the my side cabinet below my vanity in the pics, so you can see the difference in height. I know with all of the problems I listed that is sounds bad, but I cannot begin go explain what a well built, packed, and great looking vanity this really is. I am extremely pleased with the unit overall and would recommend it to anyone, as long as you buy it knowing that you will need to buy new drain lines. Buy new drains lines up front and then have the unit installed. You will still be way ahead on the price you pay over what else is out there. You will also have a cabinet that someone can’t just pick up from Costco.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High end look priced at a good value We have been remodeling our master bath and I wanted something that was custom, but not bulky. I am traditional in design, but I think clean lines can go with any decor. I researched getting a sideboard or some other piece of furniture and repurposing it as a bathroom vanity, btu I couldn't find anything that I liked. I kept coming back to this vanity, but I was concerned about the height. I prefer a tall vanity, so I don't have to bend over the sink. I found a great guy on this review for the amanda double vanity named Sean (See Seano's review July 24th). He fabricated the new vanity stand for me and shipped it from CA to TN. I can tell you the new stand is much nicer than the one that comes with the vanity. It's a beautiful high grade stainless steel. I changes the drawer pulls as well to better match the stand and to have something a little more substantial. The existing pulls are a littl stubby and not easy to get your fingers around. Although I made these changes to further customize the look- it's still a great value. I like many, replaced the drain pipes. I didn't even attempt to use the ones that came with it. In the end, I have a vanity that easily compares to one that would be in the 5-6k range for a fraction. Even with the customizations and shipping, I still came out less than some stock piece that I would have hated from Home Depot or Lowes. Love this piece- you tell me. Thoughts?
