I was very disappointed with this rug. The rug is extremely thick, and there is no way it can go in front of a door if you ever plan on opening that door. The online and catalog picture is NOTHING how the rug actually looks in person. When I first opened the rug I stared at it in confusion thinking surely there must have been a mistake. The rug is much darker and has different, noticeable lines of different color woven through it. I ordered two of these and they will both be going back immediately. I usually am really pleased with everything I get from HDC...just not this time!

The Annendale Jute rug is the second rug I've purchased from Home Decorator's. I'm very satisfied with the rugs thus far. I'm particularly fond of Home Decorator's rug selection because my budget doesn't allow for the high price pionts found at the other top home stores. The only thing to note if you're ordering a natural fiber rug is that they have inherent flaws in them especially as it pertains to color. Some of the braiding in the jute rug is consistent with the "natural" color as shown in the photo, but some areas of the jute have a green tinge to it. Nothing to cry about just be aware when ordering that it is a natural product and there will be variations in the color/texture. All in all....very satisfied!!

The rug is very thick and soft which is what we were looking for. Some people have written about a jute smell but we did not experience that at all. The only negative I have is that I had originally ordered the smallest size to check out the color. They may have sent me the lighter backround colored one because when I received the large size (9X12) the backround was not the creame color I had expected but somewhat darker, almost a very light brown. Still worked with the colors in the room so we are keeping it!

I've ordered other sisal/weaved rugs from Home Decorators before and been very pleased. This is the exception. The rug has an almost orange and dark brown weave that is so prominent it appears as a stripe. And it is already gotten pulls in it, with one cleaning and no particular use. The spot in front of the sofa already looks worn. This is after one week of use.

Color is stated and shown and shown as "natural". I thought it was just what I was looking for but, when it arrived, there are many different colors entwined in this rug. If you're like me and looking for a solid natural color braided hemp rug, this is not it. It appeared to made with all hemp scraps from other woven rugs! It is a very heavy rug, I'll say that for it and it bound tight with good workmanship but color is way off. A real heavy and expensive return item.

There is a lot of orange and brown woven into the rug that doesn't show clearly on the website picture.

I ended up returning this rug, because the color of the threads did not match other Annandale safari rugs that i had purchased elsewhere. the threads in this rug were definitely orange and black.
So be sure you have the right color, as return shipping on rugs is expensive.
