I've been coveting this ottoman for quite a while. I have several other pieces from the Artisan/Craftsman Collection and love them. Finally it was on such an amazing sale that I couldn't resist. It was already marked down then there was an extra 30% off and free shipping. It was easy to assemble, is very sturdy and looks much more expensive than it was. It elevates the style of our living room and is nice that it's open underneath compared to the solid 'cube' storage ottoman we had before. It's the cat's favorite spot to hang out. The 'leather' top is a little cheap looking but not bad really and easy to wipe clean. And I could always very easily reupholster it any time I want.

Bought this for use in a bedroom although it would fit very nicely in a living room or den. Assembly was easy and quick, about half an hour.
As others have stated the leather cushion is not very rich looking but is not unattractive and appears to be serviceable.
The wood is very nice and the light oak color to me is more of a medium oak. I like it.
The addition of a bottom shelf would cause me to raise my overall rating. But it doesn't have a bottom shelf therefore 4 stars.
A very nice simple ottoman. Would definitely purchase again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by graydove Had to do some improvising, but basically glad
The finished produce looks terrific. I did have some assembly problems in that one piece extended too long and thus would not fit: I had to get out a saw and cut about 1 inch off to make things fit, and there are screw holes at the top that ought to have filler "knobs" (those little wooden things). 8 were in the supplies, but 12 were needed. I know where I can buy some and so I'll glue those in when I can, but it would have been nice to have had them enclosed.

Needed a small bench seat for the entry hall and this fit perfectly. Chose the darker color (Macintosh Oak) to complement the area rug already in place. Fit and finish of the item are very good, and everything, including a wrench, was packed neatly and completely. Assembly is fairly straightforward, though it does require some intuition as the printed instructions leave out/gloss over a step here and there. Other than that, very pleased with the purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by stlouis329 very nice!
The ottoman is a great match with our other furniture. My only complaint is the height of the piece- if it is to be used as an footrest, be sure to measure your sofa. It is higher than our sofa seat cushions by about 2 inches.
The construction of the piece is very solid- assembly wasn't bad once I figured out how best to handle the fasteners.

This product looks and feels like a much more expensive piece. I use it as a bench to sit on at my computer counter and it works well. I put felt pads on the bottom so it slides in and out easily on my hardwood floors.

I bought two of these footstools to go with furniture I already had and it looks great! They were a little tricky to put together with the odd allen wrench but not too many parts so didn't take long. They seem very sturdy and I am so glad I purchased them both. One for the living room and one for the bedroom. Very good value for the price.

I purchased two ottomans on sale to accompany similar furniture purchased several years ago from a different company. They are attractive and have added to the comfort and functionality of the other furniture.
