Customer Questions & Answers

Is the bottom brace board mandatory?

Asked by: Samma
It wasn't for me. In fact, I couldn't have installed it even if I wanted to because of how the plumbing sits behind my toilet. I did not use the bottom brace and feel the unit is still perfectly stable. The upper brace piece does a good job. I would recommend using the bracket that holds the unit to the wall, though. It is a bit tippy because it's so tall.

remove leggs mount on wall

can you cut the legs off and mount it on the wall, or do you have one like this that mount on the wall i only have 1'" between counter and toilet tank
Asked by: tanoose
Hi Tanoose, Your best bet is to purchase a wall mounted cabinet. If you cut off the legs on this cabinet and it does not work you can not return it. MIke,

Artisan 28 in. W SpaceSaver in Macintosh Oak is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality - should last for years! The only problem is the stabilizing bar that goes at the bottom back. It is not possible to install that piece. If you install it as the product is constructed, you can't get it behind the toilet. If you wait, you cannot place it in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made, looks great This cabinet is very nice. It's well constructed and sturdy, the color matches the photographs. The measurements provided online were accurate. Putting it together is probably a two person job, but I managed to do it myself in about 3 1/2 hours. The instructions could have been clearer - especially with regard to the drawers. There's a little plastic piece that's supposed to keep the drawers from pulling all the way out, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to use them. I tried them all different ways and nothing made sense. The instructions offer no help on this one item. Finally, I just left them out and the drawers are working just fine. Unless you have a very unique toilet set up, you won't be able to use the bottom stabilizer piece. I didn't feel I needed, though, as the unit is quite sturdy without it. Two things for potential buyers: the wood has a weird smell (something the wood is treated with?) that isn't going away very quickly. I expect it will eventually, but I've had it for a week and the odd chemical smell is still quite strong (though, not intolerable). Also, the drawers come in a separate box inside the main box with all the pieces stacked separately. Two of these pieces were broken in my box as the little panels that make up the drawers are quite flimsy until they're put together. The wood glue that came with the assembly package was able to put the panels back together, but they're still compromised. It wasn't worth it to return it over that, but perhaps the drawer box should be packed a little more carefully. Otherwise, it's great--I really like it. It's good quality and I expect to have it for a long time. It really 'classed up' my standard apartment bathroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Space Saver I purchased the Macintosh Oak color and it's beautiful. It's a nice dark walnut and looks perfect in my bathroom. I was worried it would have too much cherry/red tones but it doesn't. It's a very rich dark brown. So many that I saw on line were either white or Espresso and I really didn't want that. If you are looking for a true brown this is it. As for the product itself it's very sturdy and when it's all done looks and feels like a very expensive piece of furniture. I love it. I am a 35 year old woman and I put it together myself. It took a total of 3 hours. It would have been better to have someone to help, but if you don't it can be done by yourself. That are A LOT of pieces and you need to have your wits about you and be able to read/follow directions. It seems overwhelming when you first lay everything out, but the directions are very exact and therefore pretty easy to follow. Like many others I was not able to install the very bottom cross bar. You don't need it and frankly, I don't know how you would put it over the toilet with it already installed. You would have to put it on last anyway. My advice is skip that and then after you have it over the toilet see if it will even fit with your water supply line and maybe you will add it then. I am considering ordering another one for my powder bathroom but I have a taller toilet in there and I'm not sure it would work/fit over the toilet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be prepared to call the plumber The looks of this are very nice. However installation is another matter due to the bottom brace. After the fact we see people have cut this out but you would think it's needed for stability. We had to take out the toilet to install this. Also your toilet cannot be more than 27 or 28 inches for this cabinet to fit. A lot of new toilets are 30 inches tall. We had to call a plumber to help with the removal and reinstall of the toilet. It is also shorter than I thought it would be. White has the fake woodgrain. Would be nicer in a soild surface.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Do not like 1-the unit is too short. I ended up adding 6 inch square legs to the bottom. Had to stain and seal and most likely this is too much work for average person. 2-Drawers are not practical in a bathroom, too difficult to find items need more shelves. 3-would like a latch on the big door. 4-does not make sense to put clear glass in the doors, mirrors would be better. 5-the wood is good solid grade, the wood is sealed. 6-too much money for the end product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful!!! I could not believe how beautiful this cabinet is after I assembled it. It is NOT pressed wood, it is sturdy wood, it has real glass and sturdy hardware. The Macintosh Oak is the most beautiful color, it brings a look of elegance to my bathroom, I wish I could find kitchen cabinets that are this gorgeous color and this affordable.
