I've been looking for an Oak bench for my entryway for some time now. This fit the bill nicely. It seems to be constructed well, though sometimes it does creak a bit when I sit on it. The "Light Oak" is maybe a hair darker than I would have preferred, but it fits in well enough. The shoue cubbies are great for the kids, who can get some of their pairs in one cubby. I can only get one of my shoes in each cubby. I like the drawers to store my keys and such. I was impressed by the low shipping cost and how quickly the bench arrived. It was kind of funny how the UPS guy put the door mat on top of the box like he was "hiding" the box from the public.

I like everything about this piece with one exception. I bought this for my husband to store his shoes and the cubbies are to small for men's shoes. Not even one shoe fits in one cubbie. If I had known that I am not sure if I would have purchased it, but it is a great look to our bedroom.

The bench looks nice, and comes completely assembled. Great. However, you really cannot store adult sized shoes in it. Despite what you might thing you see in the picture of this product on the website, the holes are too small. You cannot fit a pair side by side in a storage hole. Plus adult shoes don't fit without squashing the uppers down. A better design would have been to limit the openings to 4 columns instead of 5, or leave out the horizontal divider altogether. We don't have huge feet: men's size 10 and women's size 8. This might work better for kids shoes. On the bright side, it holds slippers nicely, but that is not why we bought it.

This bench came all put together. It is well made and petite, which is what I needed for a narrow space in the garage. Only one shoe fits per cubby, which also suited my needs. You could fit a pair of children's shoes or an adult pair of sandals in the cubby. Would recommend

I read the reviews and contemplated for over a month before buying this bench. I looked everywhere before finally deciding to buy this off line without seeing it in person. I wanted a bench with a place to store shoes for our mud room.
I am thrilled with this purchase. It comes assembled and is a solid piece of furniture. The shoe holes are big enough. I have kids and their shoes easily fit. Adult shoes which are bulky like the size of tennis shoes can only go in 1 per hole, but the holes are deep.
Again, this is a well made piece of furniture which is a sturdy bench. The cushion velcros into place and is comfortable. I recommend it!

I've been looking for over a year for the right shoe storage bench for my foyer and I'm so very glad that I came across this item. It's a high quality piece that is well constructed. It came already assembled and the packaging was so well done that it could have withstand an elephant sitting on it! The cubby holes are big enough to fit a pair of my husband's size 9 shoes if you put them in as if they were in a shoe box from the store. I also purchased the matching Artisian Anywhere Table & 3 shelf bookcase and the woodwork of all 3 items match perfectly. Couldn't be happier with my purchases!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BayRidgeMom Shoe cubbies are useless-too narrow & too shallow
I purchased this item based on all the great reviews, but I have to seriously disagree with them. None of mine or my husband's shoes fit in the cubbies. The only shoes that fit are my 5-year-old son's - barely! Not only are the cubbies too narrow to fit a pair of shoes per cubby, they are also too shallow to fit the full length of a shoe all the way inside. So not only do I have only one shoe per cubby, but the shoes also stick out the front. It looks ridiculous and I am very disappointed. I bought this because it's much higher quality than the cheaper versions I saw online, but it's no better for functionality.

Then Artisan shoe bench looks great, well made, packaged well to insure minimal if any damage. That's the good news. It does not function as well as it looks. The shoe cubbys would be hard pressed to accommodate any adult tennis/running shoes. I wear a 6M shoe and one of my athletic shoes fit per cubby at an angle. The cubby is not tall enough for the shoe to fit either with the shoe sole down or the shoe on its side. If you live in a warmer climate and have lots of sandals or you are buying it to hold mostly kids shoes then it is a great "fit".
