Excellent product! These bar stools are comfortable, easy to assemble and very sturdy. They fit just perfect under our counter height bar and are what we've been looking for. I have searched months and months and never imagined I'd find them at Home Depot and at such a wonderful price. Thanks Home Depot!!!! Keep up the great work.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TenaciousB Good value and pretty comfortable, but have some wood glue handy
The finish on these barstools is very nice. The quality of the wood (if you would call it that, I think it's more of a pressed MDF with a veneer than actual wood) is decent, but I'm sure it would strip if overtightened. Time will tell on the quality of the wood. I ended up purchasing 3 from my local store (they were on clearance for less than the online price).
As I write this review, I have been sitting on this stool for the past 30 minutes. It is quite comfortable to sit on (I am 5'10", 185lbs), more so than the typical round ones (which we were replacing) and more comfortable than other saddle stools I had tried. The edges of the seat are softened and with the position of the foot rest, I don't feel the seat digging into the back of my leg like some other stools seem to do.
Like one of the previous reviewers, I cannot understand why they would supply dowels without glue. I had some Titebond laying around from a previous project and used it to secure the dowels in their holes and the stools. They feel very secure to me, although maybe a little "tippy" if you try to rock them, as the legs run straight down instead of being splayed.
A note on the measurements - the seat is 17 1/2" wide by 13" deep, however the legs are 16 1/8" wide by 11 7/8" deep (not counting the round bumps in the center of the sides, which stick out another 1/16" or so on each side). This was perfect for sliding them in under the sides of our island counter top. Now we can have a few chairs at the island and a couple of stools tucked in under the ends for extra seating.
A few more notes:
1) You only need a Phillips screwdriver to put these together - no power tools. When you first look at the legs, see only one hole for the dowels and none for the screws, you might be tempted to get your power drill out (I did). Turns out the screws will just sink right into the material when tightening the cross pieces to the legs, which makes for quick and easy assembly, but may lead to issues on long-term quality.
2) The screw set that comes with the stools for assembly comes with a complete extra set of parts, in case you lose a dowel, or screw, or washer - something I have not seen that often with inexpensive furniture.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DIYMOM Great buy, great look, finish quality questionable
I was pleased with the price and purchased 4 for our breakfast bar. The chestnut color was as pictured and matches existing furniture in the room. They are comfortable and were fairly easy to put together. I did add wood glue to the dowels based on a previous poster's suggestion when putting them together, and like to believe that will make them sturdier and last longer.
The only think I was displeased with was that one of the four seats had a chip of wood out of the side and the finish there came off with the chip. Looking closely, that particular seat also had some visible drips of the stain/finish.
Overall happy with my purchase and hope they survive the teenagers that use them on a regular basis.

I've been looking for months for an inexpensive stool for my kitchen counter desk area. This is everything I wanted: inexpensive, much sturdier than I expected, very attractive and comfortable. I like the feel and size of the saddle stool. It took about 15 minutes to assemble and directions were easy to follow. All the holes match up perfectly and it went together without a hitch. I wish this stool came in a shorter height, would love one for my 30" tall project table. You'll be pleased with this stool.

I bought 4 of these for a model home. I went back and bought 2 more later. These were a great buy, the price is way under what you will find a decent stool for. The look is better than the actual quality. I don't think any of these types of stools are comfortable, even if you double your budget. The poor reviewer below should use wood glue when assembling. I always do with all of these types of furniture when I assemble. We put the first one together to see if we were going to like the style. It has no glue, and there is a big difference. So keep the chairs and invest $2 in wood glue to use on all of the dowels. I have a lot of compliments on the stools, and I have a client wanting to purchase mine right now, which is why I am back searching for them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ausside Very Good stool for the price.
I bought 5 of these stools and they went together easily. The only problem I had was one of the legs split when I put the screw in it. I called the 800 number. There was no answer but I left my name and number. I got a call back in about an hour, they got my info and shipped me a replacement part. Which I received 2 days later. They stools are very sturdy, I did glue all the dowels with wood glue. They look very good and are comfortable.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ezzie Very nice, but not sturdy
I just bought 3 of these stools at my local store, but I'm probably going to return them. I just finished assembling them and although the assembly was easy, the final product feels like it's going to collapse. I'm not a heavy person and after sitting on them, they feel a little wobbly. I also don't think it was my assembly. The wood seems weak and if I tighten the screws any more, it may split the wood. Oh well, nice looking, but not sturdy at all. I wish they weren't wobbly, because they have a nice look :(

I bought two of this counter height bar stools in the chestnut color. They are very rich looking and one would think they were a lot more expensive than they actually cost. There is some nice detail on the side which I did not notice in the online picture. So nice, I am buying another. Highly recommend.
