Answer:
Grace. This product has an AC3 rating. However, ours has been installed for about a year and has surface scratching in all our high traffic areas. I filed a complaint through Home Depot and the company responded by saying they don't cover surface scratching in residential.

Answer:
Not a good idea. Laminate floors need to expand and contract and that is why gaps are left around the edges (hence the term "floating floor"). Perfectly acceptable to install under appliances (e.g. range, dishwasher) but not under fixtures that are attached to the structure of the house.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 29 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Spend more for a quality product I absolutely love the look of our flooring. It's beautiful, however when the sun floods our house you can see surface scratching everywhere we walk. Yes, we are a family of 5, but this is normal wear and tear and in all our highly used areas. We have felt on everything to prevent scratching. I brought the issue to Home Depot and they kindly filed a complaint for me, but the company denied it saying they don't cover surface scratches in residential housing. Keep in mind, we have only had this installed for 1 year......I shutter to think what this flooring will look like in 5 years. We have now noticed buckling in the floor. Of course this is by our dishwasher so I am sure they will say there is a leak, however, we have no leak......we checked! If I could do it again, I would spend more money for a more quality product. It's our fault, I guess, we went cheap on flooring, however, they say it has a 25 year warranty. Unfortunately, I'm already thinking of re-doing our floors. All that money, hard work, and time down the drain. I wish they would have at least acknowledged that their product isn't performing as it should. May 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by waste of money I replaced a laminate floor that I had for 13 years with this, It is beautiful but when the sun shines in through the windows you can see scratches from the dogs toenails,(small dogs) looks terribly worn and isn't even a year old. Also if it gets any water on it it bubbles up the edges so I have many of those too, from people tracking in snow on their feet, after just a few months it looked older than the stuff i replaced with it. I don't expect it to last more than a couple more years. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Maple Laminate flooring +Installation of kitchen & Laundry took less than a day. The beautiful wood grain matches my low bar almost perfectly and it is 20 years old! I am very delighted with this laminate flooring. February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Too soon to rate These floors look beautiful Many years ago when Pergo first came out, we installed it in the kitchen. So, soon afterwards the scratches started. We had a dog, but also, the legs of the kitchen chairs caused scratches. Then, it started to buckle and we were told there was high humidity in the area. Bottom line, we spent a LOT of money on that floor and I will never do that again. I like the look of these floors and the price is right and after installation and use, I will update. May 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful flooring, great value I have installed this flooring in 3 bedrooms so far and will do the adjoining hallway next. The floor is very sturdy, and is very easy to install. December 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Met expectations and easy to work with The quality was good and there was a lot of variation in the pattern. An odd thing to note was that it was easy to take apart and redo. I had a couple of issues and had to pull it up. It came apart easily and did not damage the boards. For DYI projects, that's a real advantage. April 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by If I can do it so can you! great looking floor. purchase a good underlayment to dampen the sound, don't skimp it is worth it. I have no skills in handiwork and have never done any job close to this, but after some you tube videos and reading online i installed a room in one day with no help. took about 1/3 of the floor before I figured out how to make it look good pretty snug against the wall spacers. worked inside of a closet too. used a jigsaw for around door jams and a table saw with higher tooth carbide blade. you could also use a sliding miter saw. no damage in boxes, installed easily once you get the hang of it. you'll ruin some boards with mess ups so get 10-15% more than needed. I'm putting in the rest of my house because now I know how to do it, it's affordable and looks way better than carpet. again I have never even used a miter, jig or table saw before this project. watch videos and you'll pick up some good ideas, then learn yourself. I'd recommend removing baseboards. don't know why any negative complaints, because if I can do it anyone can May 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Purchase My remodel of my bedroom has been a success. I would encourage others to compare prices and find the perfect product from Home Depot. The Sales associate that helped with ever visit and purchase I made has also made my experience a delight. I currently shop at Kailua Kona Home Depot and I don't know the last name of the sales rep but he's first name is Jake. He has gone over and beyond the call duty for me and my family, were truly grateful. Mahalo Barbrarose Decker December 8, 2015
