Does this post light plug into an outlet or do I need an electrician to run electricity to it? Also, can it be installed on top of dirt or does it have to be installed on concrete or some other solid surface?
Thanks,

If you do not know how to attach a plug to the wires, you would need an electrician or a handy person to hook up the light to electricity. I am not sure how you would install this light on dirt since it is top heavy and does not stand alone. You would have to mount it on a heavy base and then it could stand upright on the dirt. If the floor is concrete, the manufacturer does provide you with bolts to mount the light into place. Read Less

Hi EJLopez34,
This lamp is designed for a permanent installation and must be secured to a concrete foundation.
Electrical connections will have to be done by a professional electrician.

Answer:
Yes,but only if you wire it to a photo-sensitive switch programmed to control it that way. Alternately, wire it to an ordinary switch, turn on at sun-down, off at sun-up!

This lamp does not come with an electric cord, We ran power to the pole and had a sensor and an outlet installed. The sensor does control the light coming on at dusk and off at dawn. Hope this helps

Brimfield 3-Head Aged Iron Outdoor Post Light is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 68.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Lamp post I purchased this online and received it the next day. We did all the wiring ourselves - and the hardest part was getting the individual sections together once the wires were snaked through. Once done though - it looks great. Only suggestion if you don't want to light up the whole neighborhood - I suggest using 25 watt bulbs - not 60 or 100 - we switched them out after it looked like a beacon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase This is a awesome lamp! I replaced 2 lamps with the built in led lights that were supposed to last for years but did not. I didn't realize that you cannot change the tiny led light as they are embedded in the circuit board. I wanted a lamp that if the bulb burned out I could change and still looked very nice. This one fit the bill and the price point excellent! The only thing I can really complain about is that the lamps connection uses one bolt and would have been better if more than one to hold the lamps in place. Other then that a great looking light. Great cost value and I used led bulbs. This lamp gives off great light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product for the money Based on the price, I was unsure of how high the quality of this light would be. Upon receiving the delivery, I opened a box (purchased two) and checked things out. In short, the light is very well made, with thick cast aluminum and what appears to be a thick, quality finish. Only time will tell how well it does. I reviewed the instructions and installation it looked straight forward and all hardware was included, including the expansion bolts for the concrete. My electrician actually did the install and he said there were no problems. Once I see them lit up at night, they look great. I'm using three 800 lumen 3K LED bulbs in each fixture.... 54 watts total, nice!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware Lamp post has a nice look to it and is not hard to assemble. If you decide to purchase this post, BE SURE TO BUY YOUR OWN ANCHOR BOLTS. The "Anchor Bolts" that come with this can also be found in most popular kids Fisher Price toy sets. These 4 inch sleeved twigs will slip out of any concrete mix you set them in. I am at the point where I just want to rip the 4 bags of concrete out of the ground, bring it back to HD and be done with it. BUY YOUR OWN ANCHOR BOLTS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Post Light Very happy with this purchase. Great quality at a very reasonable price. I was surprised at how well this product was made since it is one of the cheaper post lights available at $169. Assembly was a breeze and installation went well. I'm using 100 watt LED bulbs and it lights the area intended very well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs improvement This product arrived just fine, was well protected for shipping. But what I didn't like was the way the three lantern heads bolted to the post. There must be a better way or maybe I was missing some hardware? Because after assembly the lantern heads weren't very snug. Also the metal is cheap and thin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate description This is my second Light. The first one was knocked down when a trailer was backed into it. Great looking lamp. The three bulbs put out a lot of light. Great value for the money!! Easy to install. I poured a small concrete slab and sunk the three bolts right in the concrete!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice addition to my backyard I needed light in my backyard for parties and when I take the dogs out at night. I looked on line and I found these lights. They were delivered quickly and they look great in my backyard. They give off plenty of light and they look classy
